Album

Notch just released a whole album of dragon pictures, we have lots of work to do. [1] Shockman25 15:26, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Aargh troll on the page!--Grox19 17:14, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Question - October 7th 2011

Couldn't EnderDragons be the dragons Notch mentioned making just renamed? Even if it isn't, shouldn't EnderDragon be a sub catagory of dragon, or Ender mobs?

Sure, we could do that. (NOW DONE) CDi-Fails 02:28, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Enderagons? XD--213.106.107.251 15:04, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

They Look Like Reshiram

And they'll continue to until they get skinned.

Mildly. Resharim is a white dragon, this is a white dragon... that's about where the similarities end. --HexZyle 02:43, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

They probobly will have a texture pack for that.96.24.141.117 12:58, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Tropius

Lol yeah, in the Pokemon pack. 24.217.37.117 15:33, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Merge?

Someone added a merge tag to the page, should we merge it or keep it like this? Shockman25 22:49, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

We should keep this separate until there is clarification that this is the same thing Notch was talking about before. - Asterick6 22:56, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I believe the pages should be merged with Dragon turned into a disambiguation page. --Ecksearoh 10:26, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
This is the official page. The Dragon page should be merged with this one, if anything. The mob's name is "EnderDragon", not "Dragon". Dragon is a conjectural name given to the mob many many months back, and is quite obselete.
Remove either merge tag, if not both. Having two crossdirectional page merge templates is almost confusing as two neither/either move templates. --HexZyle 11:22, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Merged. BTW only the Enderdragon has been announced, which is why CDI's edits make no sense. --Ecksearoh 14:21, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Wait a minute, Notch has already animated the "Enderdragon". If so, why would he say that he would have to animate the Enderdragon then? Wouldn't that mean that he animated the Dragon and that the Enderdragon would have a different animation? Context clues. CDi-Fails 21:25, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Name Confirmed!

notch Markus Persson Add scales, tint black, and add purple eyes. Ender dragon! Tomorrow, I animate. http://twitter.com/notch/statuses/123168328574447617 So you can removed the article name conjectural bit. It is still not known whether this is it for Dragons or if this is simply a prefix mob (I Hope it is a prefix mob :D) -- Mini Munch 03:55 10 October 2011

disapearing pictures

i go on this alot and each time some would either add pictures or just deleted them and information on them for no reason and what noob is doing it theres been a bunch of stuff about the enderdragon that is basicly just released gets deleted by propely noob admins – Unsigned comment added by Godzilla200000 (talkcontribs). i go on this alot and each time some would either deleted them or just added them with no references to official information and what noob is doing it theres been a bunch of stuff about the enderdragon that is not even true gets added by propely noob users
TL;DR, A silly question deserves a silly answer. --HexZyle 19:58, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Also, a lot of people will post a new picture twitted by Notch just because they think they are the first to see it. But in reality, if you pay attention the time posted was 4 hours ago and you should always check to see if its already uploaded anyway. So don't be a nub before you post info or pictures. Double check first.. :o --User:Throex/Signature
This is probably happening because the "information" is speculative or simply false, pictures are probably removed because they are outdated or duplicated. Shockman25Talk 21:40, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

enderdragon destroys blocks?

"i made it vanish all blocks it hit. That was awesomely destructive, but expensive in MP. =D" - notch twitter

should this be added too the page?

He's just testing out how to make them harder. I'm pretty sure he won't keep that ability on them. --Saphireking65 18:08, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
where did he say he was just testing?
It should still be mentioned, at least in history. Also, no information was given to prove its just for testing. --208.54.39.224 19:35, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
He used the past tense; it's already changed. Still should be noted because enderdragons might still have a similar ability (i.e. it could be limited to a list of blocks now). FatherToast 19:43, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

ha looks like i was right notch confirmed enderdragons destroy blocks

I am confused.

I Thought that the Dragon and EnderDragon were both going to be part of the update. and that the enderdragon was only going to appear in the enderworld. Can someone Clarify?

Okay, the Enderdragon is the only thing confirmed. It will appear in the Ender. As for all these other skins and dragons flying around in the Overworld, that is just the Enderdgragon being tested in all different circustances and situations (and mucking around with the skin). As of yet there is no regular dragon, just the ender one. --HexZyle 19:55, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Ghast vs Enderdragon?

I don't mean one pitted against the other, but which would be more difficult enemy? BTW, I know only limited info is out, but what do you guys think?~~

The ghast is pathetic and only has 5 health. Anyway, notch said that his guidlines for designing the enderdragon were that if he can beat the Enderdragon, it's too easy. --HexZyle 23:24, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

New Video where you can see EnderDragon!

New video published by Notch[2] -The_Dark_Killer

Ender Dragon name change

Now that Notch has announced Red Dragons, Enderdragon may need to be renamed to Ender Dragon. "After release, I will totally work on slightly less dangerous dragons that don't destroy terrain and can land and whatnot. They will be red."[3] and "The End now kind of sort of works in multiplayer, yay! Tomorrow, I make the ender dragon work in MP."[1] --Ecksearoh 16:33, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

I see it as ENDERMEN...ENDERDRAGON... its one word. --Throex TALK|CONT 22:24, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
The video title says Ender Dragon.[4] --DarkFlame588 01:11, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Notch's Collision physics quote from Reddit

"Partly, yes. I've added the code for multiple segments for larger mobs so each part has its own collisions and physics. It knows if you hit it in the head or the left wing, and each part has individual player collisions, and so on. On a technical level, it works by letting each entity define a bunch of sub entities if it wishes to. The entity is fully responsible for all physics and saving and loading of the sub entities. It's working surprisingly well, and it appears to be working in multiplayer as well, although I haven't started testing the dragon in MP yet. Originally, it hit walls and couldn't move through them. It awkwardly turned around and changed direction. The player can easily create walls on their own, and trying to make an AI to properly navigate arbitrary terrain before the code freeze next tuesday isn't feasible when there's so much more we need to do. And since the dragon is going to start out as an overpowered boss enemy (I'm definitely adding less overpowered dragons for the main world after release), we don't want too many easy ways to deal with it, so we had a short design meeting and decided to make it cheat."[5] --Ecksearoh 18:22, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

I say we create on page for all dragons

Like how all the stairs are put on the Stairs page. It'll be easier to keep track of one page than a bunch of pages. We don't know how many dragon types there will be, too.

According to the new twitter post from Notch, dragons will consist of 6 limbs. I would have to say 2 wings, 2 legs and 2 arms.. I added it to the page cause I do not feel that it is speculation, but truth. lol Common-sense. --Throex TALK|CONT 22:23, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Since there are two (and possibly more) dragons, we need an unmerge of at least the history section of the dragon pages. (since both the Red Dragon and the Enderdragon have the exact same history information and it is redundant. Perhaps restore the dragon page to its original state and then delete the history sections off both this and the Enderdragon pages. --HexZyle 13:21, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

I just edited the history sections on both pages to cut down on repetition. --Ecksearoh 22:08, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

The two announced dragons will greatly differ from eachother. From what's mentioned one is supposed to land and be smaller, having a normal attack routine while the other (Ender) dragon flies through things like a true behemoth. They are no more the same than the Zombie and PigZombie and also occur in separate realms. They may look alike but that's probably where similarities end. The Zombie and PigZombie probably have more in common with eachother. -Saratje

Do spawners work?

Thanks to MCEdit i placed entityID "EnderDragon" into the spawner and it has spinning enderdragon model now, but it won't spawn them. What conditions do they need? Xeoxer 21:33, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure, remember that spawners need a light level of less than seven, and a mode that isn't peaceful, to work. Shockman25Talk 21:41, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
