Speculation: Colors

So, I play DnD often, and we've found that personalities are different according to the color of the dragon. Like, a green dragon would be passive hostile, and a black dragon would be hostile all the time. I think that would be something notch might do, but I'm not sure. There's also the possibility of something like spiders; Friendly in the day, hostile at night. What do you guys think? Am I missing anything?

Idea:If you kill a green dragon,it will give you the green dye, kill a black dragon and you'll get-Redstone? I'm just saying, the redstone could be his eyes, like a cursed dragon :D

Hmm, maybe bones too? Or possibly scales?
By Malde37, at 18:37, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm all for scales. They could be used for Armor or *gasp* that dragon equipment in that mod set. I forget what it's called, but Notch may be able to make Chainmail and other things with scales.

Dropping fire?

Is there really any reason to believe that Dragons would drop fire just because Notch ahs said that chainmails will be added to the game without hacking? It would make more sense that the recipe changes for chainmail, IMO. --Urian 07:03, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Wait, wtf? Why would dragons drop fire? I mean, maybe they could breathe it and you could catch it, but dropping it? I'm removing this. --Rocĸetor talk 07:52, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Refrain from Posting Fan Theories Please

They are a planned mob, but until Notch actually announces what he is going to do with the dragons in better detail, adding anything about what the dragons *MIGHT* do or work is essentially a fan theory. We don't know if dragons are going to have different colors, talk, lay eggs, fly, be trainable, be small, large or colossal, destroy blocks, drop bones/fire/talons/teeth/gas sacs/wings or anything that you guys keep on speculating, and rather than put uncited theories onto the page, it's best to just make a suggestion thread about them on the forums.

Flying

I think it's likely that they will fly, because one of the current statistics that has been hidden in minecraft.jar is "distance flown". Anyone think this should be mentioned in the article? JesusChrist666 01:05, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

No, it's nothing more than conjecture. Notch explicitly said on Twitter that "distance flown" is very difficult to add to in the current version of Minecraft, suggesting that rather than true flight, the statistic may currently be intended to track the distance you are thrown by explosions or knockback from mob hits. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:40, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Whether they fly or not, it will not be possible to mount them, for anyone who is interested in knowing this. Ysulyan 22:49, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

allied

when the add the dragon i hope it would be allied with the player but they should only appear in the nether By Abigmojanglover Saturday june 18 6:25 pm 2011

That would remove the fun and the point of a dragon. Khosumet 19:59, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

If They drop Scales do you think they might be the thing that makes Chainmail Legit?

Notch said that Chainmail would eventually be legitimate, and Dragons may come in the 1.7 update (The "Scary Monster" coming out) so do you think that they will be the source for Chain armor?

If so, then they would have to enhance the defense of it, because Chainmail has the same durability as a golden armour. It wouldn't make sense to have an armour with such low durability if it was made out of dragon scales. Ysulyan 23:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Good idea, it should either be above diamond armor (if dragons are rare/bosses) or be in between iron and diamond (if they spawn in the nether or like normal enemy mobs)
