Is there still no icon the dolphin can use in the entities navigation box? it's still a question mark, if there isn't i'll make a temporary one that can be used for now. jjlr (talk) 05:51, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Bedrock edition behaviour[]
The treasure locating ability should probably be rewritten to better explain how it works. Since the dolphins are technically not locating the structures but rather the chests in the structures, and breaking the chests causes them to search for another structure with intact chests. jjlr (talk) 00:58, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. I've reworded the statement to make it better here, but I don't know the details of how this works. It seems like you know more about this than I do, so you could probably go ahead and add the detail about them locating the chests in structures rather than the structures themselves.-- Madminecrafter12

- This no longer seems to be true, as now dolphins lead you to the closest object regardless of if you've already taken those chests. Chaosstripe (talk) 03:48, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

Dolphin’s Grace effect[]
According to the status effect page, the Dolphin’s Grace effect can be obtained from dolphins. However, this page gives no mention of the effect. Could someone give a description of how dolphins give the effect? The Blobs 22:38, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Dolphin treasure finding behavior in java[]
I did some testing in 18w21a and it was hard to tell if dolphins ignore broken chests as they do in bedrock. It appeared as though they don't but it needs more testing. Also it appears dolphins in 18w21a prioritize playing with items over locating treasure, this also needs more testing. jjlr (talk) 05:40, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
I was playing on Java Edition on a world generated before 1.13 and the dolphin located where a shipwreck would have been if the world were generated in 1.13. I believe on Java Edition, the dolphins simply use the same coordinates as the /locate command would return, regardless of if there are chests (or anything) there. --Gwingle (talk) 18:48, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
Dolphins can be "leashed"[]
I have found that Dolphins (in Java) can be put on a lead and led around, even up waterfalls.
can someone edit this in? please –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Baallog (talk • contribs) at 05:41, 16 September 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
MOAR sounds![]
I think dolphins produce more than one idle and idle underwater sounds. If so, add them!--Delibirda (talk) 09:18, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Dolphin NBT tags[]
Dolphins (at least in the Java Edition) have an NBT tag called Moistness, which contains how many ticks are left before the dolphin starts to suffocate. It gets set to 2400 when the dolphin is in water, and counts down when the dolphin is outside of water. Once it goes below 0, the dolphin starts taking suffocation damage. Also, the Air NBT tag is set to 4800 when the dolphin's head is outside of water, and counts down when it's head is submerged. Goes below 0, dolphin starts taking drowning damage. This isn't mentioned in the Entity Data section currently. -- Ultsppi (talk) 19:18, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
