Detector Rail was a planned feature - maybe content of 1.5
The Detector Rail is a new block which recognizes if a minecart is on (that?) track. It gives an electrical siglan (redstone). It does not matter if the cart is used or empty. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ian76g (Talk|Contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Detector
Nice, its great this was made. Perhamps if they want to make some detectors which would not detect empty carts, it would be better to make different one instead of changing current one. There are two types of pressure plates, why not different detector rails.... --TakeruDavis 16:39, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yea it would be nice if they would make one with a wooden plate that filled that role, then make the stone plate one only be affected by a player. —Neithan Diniem † 19:36, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Image
I can't upload images for whatever reason, so here's the large image. If someone could upload it and put it into the article, that would be great. I already ran it through OptiPNG.

Getting main image
How do you get it perfect like that? I really would like to know. Cool12309(T|C) 23:57, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Take it from the blocks.png file, then use a decent image editor to increase its size. -AlphapT~C 04:34, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Old bug
Do we really need to list an old bug in the trivia section? --Tinaun 20:19, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, for historical purposes. Calinou - talk × contribs » 20:39, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Suggestion
Where should somebody write suggestion? Or is there some mod capable of this?
Detecting a cart, or just simply object, but not right on itself as DetectRail, Plate, but on closeby positions or inbetween A and B part (want cart stopped on sloped unpowered PowRail and be able to detect if it is there or if rail is empty - dont want bool memory, it doesnt remember after server restart, right.)
Alternatively, does anybody know how to make server remember bool value? Some mod similar to CraftBook(we dont have that one yet, but we plan it), which would place(set 1) and remove(set 0) a cube block or something like that.--TakeruDavis 17:23, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
The place for suggestions in the minecraft forum. Go there. 72.209.199.2 00:19, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
New Bug/Feature?
Although this was present in previous versions, placing two diagonal detector rails next to each other will cause both to act like an empty cart detector. Any layout can be used, as long as the both detector rails are put in right next to each other like this: \/, with no rails between them. Attempting to run through them w/o a person inside causes no redstone signal, but with a person inside, a redstone signal. Can someone confirm this? 72.228.149.48 02:59, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Master7432
