Cloud Talk Page

If needed, discuss the clouds here.

Perhaps Clouds ought to have their own page. They are vision-obscuring moving objects that float at a certain height (~110 from bottom?). I don't know enough about Clouds to make an assertion there. --meioziz 00:14, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Well, I've taken a first crack at this. Please feel free to edit it and make it better. Thanks.
Rearranged the screenshot a little - will probably upload a scaled (smaller) version at a later time.
Ugh. Keep forgetting to sign. Sorry about being a wiki newb. --meioziz 18:09, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Does anyone else think it would be awesome to mine clouds? Alik 21:40, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Different opacity

In 1.3 I noticed that clouds now have two different levels of opcaity. Often a single cloud will show both. I don't know in which patch this feature has been added, the version history doesn't give any insight about it either. Bromazepam 08:59, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Are you using a texture pack? Texture packs can change clouds, including the opacity. (Clouds are just a giant texture, in fancy made 3D just like the tool you're holding.) —KPReid 10:20, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Hahaha, sorry, I'm such an idiot. I didn't realise it was possible to change their texture. Bromazepam 11:13, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Floating west?

why are people saying that clouds float west? unless the sun rises in the north and sets in the south, the clouds go north.√Onion=Shallot 02:14, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

The sun rises in the North, according to the reference. FatherToast 02:23, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Notch himself said that the Sun rises in the North (and, therefore, that clouds float West) - http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/88155424880201728. ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:03, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Now that the sun actually rises in the east and sets in the west in 1.9 pre4, the clouds are floating west. --DarkFlame588 17:47, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
