Lava lake misconception
#Lava lakes are believed to have valuable ores around them due to the fact that they expose said ores and generate at the right depth for them, making lava lakes an easy way to find a large amount of ore. This isn't proof that ores generate more near them, but it might be worth noting in the article. AwesomeMan31415926 (profile|contribs) 22:26, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
Move to cave
They are called caves in the customize world menu, rather than caverns. PikaSamus025 (talk) 01:33, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Agree Cave is also what people usually call them. The Blobs

Deep pit
I removed this line from the Caves#Deep pit section:
- You can find a deep pit at spawn in the seed 62.
Testing this in Bedrock 1.11.3, there are indeed two extremely deep vertical shafts near the spawn point, although not "a hole spiraling down" as described. I removed the line because this article isn't a tutorial, but if someone can verify this seed in Java edition, maybe we can add it back as a universal example. ~ Amatulic (talk) 15:09, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Caves & Cliffs
Shouldn't we add the Caves and Cliffs update in the Version history Under Upcoming Bedrock Edition and Upcoming Java Edition? MineStone (talk) 20:18, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Split proposal

- Oppose: No reason to split as they're not really different enough to necessitate a split. Anyway, at the moment there isn't much content on noise caves, so splitting now isn't a good idea anyway. Nixinova T C 06:20, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Weak oppose per Nixinova but I kind of want to split in later snapshots if there is more information. Also, would aquifers go in Noise Cave or it's own seperate page?Humiebee (talk) 12:50, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose For noise caves, Weak support for aquifers. Pescavelho (talk) 13:29, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose: Sorry if anons aren't allowed to comment, but per Nixinova. 90.253.135.125 16:32, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose and there's no reason why anons can't comment. It's way too soon to be considering a split. Amatulic (talk) 22:30, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Noise caves is a 1.17 feature. There is no reason to split it before 1.17 arrives, because most players still want information from 1.16 KameKaza (talk) 17:19, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
Canyons should be merged into the carver section
First off, I think they should be referred to as ravines on the wiki, because that's what everybody calls them. Second, they don't really warrant their own page given that they are a carver. I think all elements of cave generation(natural generation, not structures) should be put on this page. LethalChicken77 (talk) 08:16, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Note: They are officially called canyons; We do not allow unofficial names. TheGreatSpring (talk | contribs) (Tagalog translation) 08:29, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- I mean if we are using date of implementation as a reason for not merging then we'd have to split noise caves too. Pescavelho (talk) 09:54, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Weak oppose an outright merge, Support including some info about canyons in this page and then having a "main article:" disclaimer. Pescavelho (talk) 20:06, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
A few minor changes having to due with the snapshots
Underground lava lakes were removed in 21w06a, and added again in 21w08a. Also, as of 21w08a, carver caves are able to generate below y0. I would appreciate if someone added these events, because the history section is giving me some trouble at the moment. Thanks. Ninjabro393 (talk) 03:00, 24 February 2021 (PST)

I think there should be different sections under the caves page for cravers, noise caves and aquifers. Those terms are too technical and difficult to remember to be searched for by your average user looking for "caves". – Unsigned comment added by 220.240.5.199 (talk) at 23:01, February 24, 2021 (UTC). Noodle Caves
I think it'd be better to include more specific information about Noodle Caves here. Also, can anyone add in-game pictures of them? They're relatively easy to spot.--Ziad El-Moursy (talk) 02:26, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Should Noodle caves be put alongside noise caves, or given their own section? The post says they are similar to spaghetti caves (so they likely use similar generation), but they're considered separate in the worldgen config.--Canarussia (talk) 01:45, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hmmm.... I incline to say that they almost certainly use the same generation and should therefore be listed as a Noise Cave. After all, Noise Cave is a purely technical term that refers to caves using Perlin Noise generation, and according to a reply from Henrik Kniberg on Twitter (can't link it right now), Noodle Caves as well as the new Ore Veins use Perlin Noise. So yes, they should be listed under Noise Caves.
