Question

As of 21w11a it doesn't seem the block of amethyst can be obtained or mined even with silk touch. I assume this is a bug as it isn't listed as a feature anywhere. 82.41.118.165 18:05, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Are you using a wooden/stone pickaxe? They can only be obtained using an iron pickaxe or above.Humiebee^{talk contribs} 19:12, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

It seems that as of the official 1.17 release, a block of amethyst can be mined with any pickaxe, not just an iron or better Cewlboi123 (talk) 22:07, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I noticed that too. I was able to break a block of amethyst with a wood pickaxe. I'm going to correct the page and see if I can find any more info on when it was changed. Greenpepperpasta (talk) 05:13, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Amethyst can be obtained using any pickaxe as of 21w13a

I edited the wiki page to reflect the fact that amethyst can be broken using any pickaxe. However there seemed to have been some previous edits related to this that got reverted, so I wanted to clear up the confusion.

• In 21w10a, amethyst blocks can be obtained using iron pick or better. Wood and stone do not work.
• In 21w11a, amethyst blocks cannot be obtained using any pickaxe because of bug MC-219920
• In 21w13a, MC-219920 was fixed. In this version, amethyst blocks can now be obtained any pickaxe.
• In the 1.17 release, this is still the case. A wooden pickaxe can mine amethyst.

The above statements are facts, and can be easily verified by others. Amethyst blocks are mineable using any pickaxe. This change was not explicitly stated in any Mojang changelog, but it is clearly a byproduct of bug MC-219920 being fixed. Greenpepperpasta (talk) 06:13, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Vibration Resonance

The wiki currently says nothing about vibration resonance in the Block of Amethyst page, in fact it says that they are only useful for decorative purposes. I don't know how to put that notice on the page, but it needs to be done. EnderVexer (talk) 23:12, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
