Should we add a description and picture for each of the biomes and maybe a heading for each? F1racer101 19:08, 29 October 2010 (CDT)
- Yes, we should. Oa10712 18:17, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
This page still references the Slip as "Hell".
Biomes
The Seecret Friday Update for 10-29-10 has added biomes and pumpkins.
No, the Halloween Update 2010 released those things... F1racer101 00:14, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
The Nether
The nether doesn't fit in on the list of biomes, or on this page for that matter. It is a biome, in the real world definition of the word, but in minecraft terms, it is a separate plane. I think it should be removed from the list. Kmach 23:52, 30 October 2010 (CDT)
- I clarified this next to the bullet for The Nether, I don't know if it's enough though. --UncleRuckus 00:24, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Technically it is a biome as it can be found, albeit extraordinarily rarely, in the normal world, evidenced by the picture I uploaded. --SuperStalin 00:01, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Wood/Forest/Seasonal Forest
What's the difference? I'm guessing a forest is a medium amount of trees with nothing else notable, while the seasonal forest is a snowy but otherwise identical forest, and the woods might be a very thick forest, different from the rain forest because there's not tons of water? Any input is appreciated, as there's really no way yet to assign names to biomes without guessing the contents from the name. --TheToast7 21:52, 2 November 2010 (CDT)
Trees per chunk
I think we should clarify that more and explain (at least give a link to) what chunk is so new people won't get confused. Groshi 12:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Different "types" of trees
I noticed that there are (rare) different ways the leaves can grow on a tree now. So far, I've seen:
- Normal trees, with leaves going outward
- Fully covered trees, with leaves going down to the ground
- Trees shaped like mushrooms
Has anyone else seen weird trees? --PurpleKiwi 16:48, 4 November 2010 (CDT)
Pre-Emptive Splitting
Okay, guys, I know that at this point in time it is not neccessary, but seeing as Notch plans to make the biomes more distinct in the future, I think that we should split each Biome into its own page to prepare for this. We already have excellent pictures for each one courtesy of the Biome Science thread, the pics are already on the biome page. Again, we don't need to yet, but it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. --DStecks 19:09, 5 November 2010 (CDT)
- for now, I think it should be left as-is, but I can perform another major split when the time calls for it ^^--Kizzycocoa 00:15, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
