Bah, Humbug.

Gaah... we've got mobs walking through walls and players walking into unloaded chunks, and they spend time on this l33t-player frippery? --Mental Mouse 23:29, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Well, it looks like they've got a bugfix release coming before the one with this thing, so now I feel better about that. I'm sure it'll play well in Adventure mode, but it's still pretty crazed for Survival players. --Mental Mouse 20:53, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I can only imagine the uses the pyramid will have. Also, to make the smallest golden Pyramid you'd need to kill a loooot of Zombie Pigmen, so it's kind of a nice reward to build a safe town. -- Added by Zoro the Gallade, 11:17, 15 August 2012. Please sign your comments.
  • Unfortunately, the bugfix-release hasn't fixed all the bugs....  :-( The most obvious use for this thing is for defending a player base, or perhaps mounting an assault on some nasty area. The problem is, unmodified Minecraft doesn't have too many challenges warranting that sort of area buff, and most of them can be avoided rather than confronted. (Also, if MC did have such challenges, they'd be the sort that pretty much required multi-player cooperation anyway.) OK, zombie sieges. Otherwise... well, if you want to just hang out at night and beat up all the spawns. Battling ZP's in the Nether, fine.... In the End it could be very helpful, but one pass by the Enderdragon would wipe it out. Also, it's not clear yet what the point of using anything but iron would be, but I suppose that will show up in later versions. I'll tell you, anything that demands diamond blocks had better be pretty awesome! --Mental Mouse 11:43, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

"Aura Block" would be a better name

Shouldn't we name this "Aura Block" ? It's true we can see it from far but it's not really it's main function. Algent 01:57, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Beacon redstone

since the glass does not stop the power of the beacon block, we can use pistons and glass to make redstone systems, with hidden pyramids.

Is there a way to force light beam to render

On computers which don't show light beam -- [Posted by 68.231.126.31]

Effects

I suppose the regen and speed effects are just like potion effects, just not temporary. However, what does "Haste" do? There's not a potion that has that effect.

Light beam

Why isnt a light beam showing up above my beacon block? I have the pyramid exactly right and it's not showing anything above it. Can someone help?

If the beacon GUI doesn't show any powers, you did something wrong. Otherwise your computer is not good enough to render the beam. In any case, you should give us a screenshot for questions like these.--Johnfaber 10:47, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah, I just heard you probably need to update your OpenGL.--Johnfaber 12:13, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
