Sunlight

Currently, all blocks that are not vertically obstructed from the sky by another solid block are lit by what is assumed to be sunlight.

Sunlight is necessary for dirt blocks to change into grass blocks. This will only happen if the dirt block is adjacent to a grass block and exposed to sunlight.
