Example of Score in Hardcore
In Minecraft, the score is a point system in Experience and mob kills. When the Player dies, a score is displayed on the death screen. This score is exactly the same to the amount of XP the player gathered during their life. In Survival Mode, each time the player dies, the score is reset. In Hardcore Mode the player can only die once, and therefore can only have one score.
History
When first added as part of the point system in the Classic Survival Test, the score shown on the death screen was "&e0". "&e" is a code to make the text yellow, and Notch never fixed the minor error for many updates. This was fixed when Notch added Experience Orbs and made each orb equal to 1 point in Beta 1.9pre2.[1]
Bugs
- If you make green sheep you get 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 extra score points
There are several bugs in multiplayer:
- Whenever a server is updated, the player scores get reset to zero.
