In a Minecraft world, each Player has a reputation with each Village they encounter.

Reputation begins at 0, ranges from +30 to -30, and can be increased by Trading with Villagers. The reputation level is decreased if a villager or Iron Golem is harmed. If the reputation level of a certain player reaches -15 or lower, the iron golems of that village will become hostile to that player, making it very hard to gain back the lost reputation if village-made iron golems are around.

Note that different players may have different reputations in the same village, and the same player can have different reputations in different villages.

Certain actions by a player can increase or decrease their reputation. A player cannot change another player's reputation.

Reputation can increase or decrease by Villager gossip.
