Redstone is a substance most commonly found deep underground in the form of Redstone ore that was introduced in Minecraft Alpha, version 1.0.1_0. When Redstone ore is destroyed by a Pickaxe made of Iron or Diamond, it drops 4-5 piles of Redstone dust. This dust can then be placed on the ground to make a wire (or be crafted with a stick to make a Redstone torch.) Shortly before Notch gave it its official name, it was known by a variety of names. The most popular unofficial name was Cuprite, as well as the troll-coined Aspergite.
Redstone could refer to:
- Redstone (Wire) - Redstone wire is redstone that has been placed on the ground.

- Redstone (Torch) - Redstone torches are often used to make redstone power go further. It is also a major component in redstone circuits.
