Illager beasts are large aggressive mobs that raid villages alongside pillagers.

Behavior

Illager beasts are hostile towards players, iron golems and villagers. They attack by ramming their victims with their head, dealing 12♥ × 6 damage and high knockback (including to players holding shields). They will also destroy crops and leaves that they run into, though flowers, saplings, and crops such as melon and pumpkin stems are unaffected.

If blocked by a shield while attacking, the illager beast has a chance to become stunned and unable to move or attack for around 2 seconds. After this time period, it will emit a roar that does 6♥♥♥ damage and high knockback (which increases with proximity) to nearby players and mobs. The roar can damage nearby illagers as well and they will fight back, but illager beasts will nerver do so.

Illager beasts will flee from rabbits.

Drops

Upon death, illager beasts drop:

Trivia

  • Illager beasts running away from rabbits is a reference to the myth that elephants are afraid of mice.[1]
  • Due to the large amount of health and strength that the illager beast has, it could be considered as a mini-boss.
  • They match up to be slightly weaker than iron golems.
  • They are the first four legged mob to have a villager-like nose on their faces
