Rana was a human mob that was originally in-game as a test during the Indev phase. She were made by "Dock", Minecraft's past artist, and was removed from the game when Dock left the development team in early 2010. She had no animation and glided around in the same pose. Upon death,she woundn't drop anything. Rana had 13 Health points. Rana is an original character of Dock. "Rana" means frog in Latin. When hurt, she mobs make The Player's hurt noise.
If you look closely at the Indev versions with these mobs, you will notice that Rana is never in any of the same versions as Beast Boy, Black Steve, and Steve. They are always in separate versions.
History
Rana was originally added in the first version of Indev 0.31 (23-12-09) and was removed in Indev 0.31 (28-01-10) in favour of Beast Boy, Steve and Black Steve.
Trivia
Rana was created by dock and removed when he left mojang.
Rana is internally the human mob but model is replaced with Rana's model, therefore, they have the same savegame id "Mob"
