Rabbits or bunnies are a mob created by Ryan Holtz. Rabbits are passive[citation needed] and bounce around aimlessly.

Rabbits were initially proposed by Notch during Survival Test development, but the plan was quickly dropped.[1] Five years later, Holtz posted an image of rabbits in game with a statement that he created them solely for amusement and was not intended to be added in Minecraft.[2] Later however, Holtz revealed that the mob is in production and it would be added in the game.[3][4]

Drops

Rabbits have three known drops.[5] They drop rabbit hides which can be crafted into leather. They also drop raw rabbit meat, which can be cooked. They can also drop rabbit's feet which can be brewed to create potions of Leaping.
