This article is about the block required to activate the structure. For the structure itself, see Nether Reactor.
Template:BlockTileEntity
The Nether Reactor Core is a block available only to the Pocket Edition of Minecraft. It was introduced on major update 0.5.0, with the ability to create a Nether Reactor.[1]
The Nether Reactor Core is a block only available in Pocket Edition therefore it doesn't have a defined crafting recipe and is considered shapeless. The block it's self can be crafted using three Diamonds and six Iron Ingots.
0.5.0Tropical fish also have assigned names that can be seen after capture. In Java Edition, the smaller text under the item name is displayed showing the fish name, similar to the text that displays enchantments under enchanted items. In Bedrock Edition, the item name is displayed showing "Bucket of <fish name>". Their colors are mostly named according to the colored block names, though with a few exceptions:
White
Silver
Gray
Black
Brown
Red
Orange
Yellow
Lime
Green
Teal
Sky
Blue
Plum
Magenta
Rose
The base color comes first, and if the pattern color is different, it comes after that. Lastly, the fish bucket is given a name according to the shape and pattern of the fish:
Flopper
Glitter
Betty
Stripey
Blockfish
Clayfish
Kob
Snooper
Brinely
SunStreak
Dasher
Spotty
Some tropical fish don't follow the normal naming system, and instead, reference real-life fish species. Apart from these names, these types of fish aren't different from regular tropical fish in terms of design or behavior.
If you mine the core while it's active, it will remain active, but, nothing else will spawn after you mine it out, the glowing obsidian will still be there, no wholes will appear in the nether spire(the obsidian tower built after it's been activated)since the game glitches and thinks the nether reactor is still active(so you will need a diamond pickax to escape, the only pickax that can mine obsidian), and it will remain night time. When you go to sleep, it will turn to day, but will shortly turn back to night after. Exiting the app, then deleting it from your history(ios devices only kindle, remove from your whatever history it's from, don't know what it's called) then going back on the game will restore the normal night and day pattern and fix the glitch but the glowing obsidian will still be there. If you mine out the glowing obsidian, the item that pops out is regular obsidian.
A burnt-out core can be reactivated by mining it out and then rebuilding the reactor pattern again. This makes another obsidian tower if you built it away, but if you built it in the exact same spot, the nether spire(the obsidian tower built after it's been activated) will restore its original self and the whole process restarts.
You can save your gold blocks after you activated it. You activate it like normal, and there's a short period of time where the gold blocks will not turn into obsidian, and that's the time you are able to retrieve the gold blocks.
