Not to be confused with Moss Stone.
For the carpet-like block, see Moss Carpet.

A moss block is a natural decorative block.

Obtaining

Moss block patterns

Different areas from the original moss block can be converted.

Natural generation

Moss generates on the floor and ceiling within the lush caves biome and as loot in shipwreck chests.

Using bone meal on a moss block causes nearby podzol, rooted dirt, dirt, sand[JE only], gravel[JE only], stone, deepslate, tuff, granite, andesite and diorite to be converted to moss blocks. Blocks on the same Y level with an air block above them, within a random 3x3 to 7x7 area from the original moss block can be converted.

Trading

Moss blocks can be obtained by trading with a wandering trader, who may sell 2 moss blocks for 1 emerald.

Breaking

Moss blocks can be mined using any tool or by hand, but a hoe is the fastest way to break it.
