Mo' Creatures is a mod created by DrZhark. It was created on November 17, 2010, and is compatible with the latest Beta version.
The mod is on version 2.7 and can be downloaded following the instructions here.
- The mod requires the Audio Mod, which is included in the link.
- this mod is suposed to come with a GUI API,but it doesn´t,you will need to download and install it separatly,or at least until the mod gets updated, also, you wil need to delete the META-INF folder for ANY mod to be installed
- the mod doesn´t work on smp and will not work in the near future.
- you can set the mobs you want to spawn on wich dificulty and where in the options/mob options in the menu.
- you need the audio mod and the mod loader in order for this mod to work
- you will probably want the farmcraft mod for this mod to work better link here
- with farmcraft you will be able to tame nearly all animals
- it is remotely possible that other creatures will be abe to be tamed
- the mod might keep expanding,so you will have to take a look on the oficial mod thread

Taming
All tamed animals will not despawn.
Sharks
Taming sharks is easier than taming horses. In order to tame a shark, you will need to start with a baby shark from an egg. Sharks have a 10% of dropping an egg when killed. To hatch the egg, you need to throw it into the water which will generate a friendly-baby shark. After it grows big enough, it will be able to attack other mobs (like squids).tamed Sharks will not attack other sharks or the player.
Birds
You can tame birds by giving them seeds (throwing them), once tamed they will not run away from you and will not despawn, even though you can´t do anything with them.
If too many birds are tamed, then it could cause problems with the mod. (Someone please confirm this?)
Horses
Taming horses is a complex process. Before you begin taming you must put a saddle on the horse by equiping the saddle and right clicking on the horse. Next you must feed them to reduce their temper. Each type of horse has an ammount of temper that must be removed before it is considdered tame. Different foods remove different amounts of temper Here are all foods that can currently (V2.7) be used to reduce temper, once tamed, thay will not despawn.
| Food | Effect |
|---|---|
| Wheat | -25 temper (To a minimum of 25) |
| Sugar Cubes | -50 temper (To a minimum of 25) |
| Bread | -100 temper (To a minimum of 25) |
| Apple | Instantly tames |
To feed a horse equip the food you with to feed it then right click on the horse. As of V2.7 and earlier there is a bug that causes you to eat a sugar cube when feeding it to a horse, using 2 sugar cubes per right click. After reducing temper to 25 or lower the horse must be ridden to complete taming. It is recommended that you reduce temper as much as possible before attempting to ride a horse. To ride a horse right click it while not holding food. While being tamed horses will buck you off, possibly several times, doing damage to you.
Types of Horse
There are currently (V2.7) 8 different types of horse with different speeds, hit points totals, temperments, and chance to spawn in the wild.
| Breed | Color / Description | Speed | Hit Points | Temper | SpawnChance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Horse | light brown | 0.9 | 25 | 100 | 50/101 |
| Brown Horse | brown | 1.0 | 30 | 200 | 35/101 |
| Black Horse | black | 1.1 | 35 | 300 | 9/101 |
| Unicorn | white with horn | 1.3 | 40 | 400 | 4/101 |
| Pegasus | white with wings | 1.2 | 40 | 500 | 1/101 |
| Pack Horse | Pinkish brown with saddle bags | 0.9 | 40 | 600 | |
| Nightmare | Black with horn | 1.3 | 50 | 700 | |
| Black Pegasus | Black with horn and wings | 1.3 | 50 | 800 |
In the mod's options it is possible to raise the spawn chance of Pegasus from 1/101 to 10/101. This also lowers the chance of other horses spawning. Pack Horses, Nightmares, and Black Pegasus can not be found in the wild and must be bred.
Breeding
(There is no graphic depictions of Horse Breeding)
To breed horses you will require:
- 2 pumkins/mushroom soup
- 2 non-sterile horses
- a place where they are within 4 squares of each other and 8 squares minimum away from you and other horses
- 1/2 minecraft day
To breed a horse, you need to give each one of the horses a pumpkin or mushroom soup. The first of the two that you feed the pumpkin/soup to will become sterile and not be able to breed again. It is advisable that you feed the pumpkin/soup to the less rare horse first.
After half a day there will be a third horse. There is a 25% chance of this horse being a rare breed. The exact type of rare breed is determined by the total genetic value (TGV) of the parent horses
| Horse | Genetic Value | TGV To Breed |
|---|---|---|
| Light horses | 1 | |
| Brown horses | 2 | |
| Dark horses | 3 | |
| Unicorns | 4 | |
| Pegasus | 5 | 10 |
| Pack horse | 6 | 7 |
| Nightmare | 7 | 9 |
| Black pegasus | 8 | 12 |
Note that the total genetic value must EQUAL these numbers. If the value is 13 or higher it cannot produce a Black Pegasus. If the TGV cannot produce a rare breed you will get a random horse with genetic value 1-5.
Rare Breeds
As explained before, some horses can only be obtained with breeding.
- Packhorse : you can add a chest to this horse and by using a shovel (imagine it as a key) you can open the inventory and store things inside
- Nightmare : Fireproof and blazing fast, you can activate their superpower by feeding them redstone, this will make them lit fire wherever they step
- Black Pegasus : The best of horses: fireproof, flying, tied for fastest speed, and able to have its own inventory. Truly a peerless steed.
Proper Storage And Care Of Your Horse
Horses have a tendency to wander so if you want to keep track of them it's important that you store them properly. It's important that there be no grass in their enclosure as predator mobs may spawn. While horses normally require a 2*2 space to move through it's possible for them to glitch through smaller gaps so eliminating gaps in their pen is a must. If your horse becomes injured simply feed him in the same manner as you tamed him to restore his health.
