Moving out of user space

As the first heading on the page explains, this page should be moved out of the user space in order to prevent edits from being disallowed.

Helen has declared this to be "the official parity issue list", and as such people want to help contribute to it, even new ones who made no edits yet.

Considering both this list, and the Unintuitive ID List are shared with the developers, I’d like to keep them close together.

A couple of suggested locations to move to (more suggestions are welcome)

  1. Minecraft_Wiki:Parity_Issue_List (and Minecraft_Wiki:Unintuitive_ID_List)
  2. Minecraft_Wiki:Projects/Parity_Issue_List (and Minecraft_Wiki:Projects/Unintuitive_ID_List)
  3. Minecraft_Wiki:Parity_issue_list (and Minecraft_Wiki:Unintuitive_ID_list)
  4. Minecraft_Wiki:Projects/Parity_issue_list (and Minecraft_Wiki:Projects/Unintuitive_ID_list)

Please tell me which you'd like to see it moved to.

Strong support In my opinion the third name ([[Minecraft Wiki:Parity issue list]]) would be better as it it less of a project about the wiki but an "official" documentation/list.   HorseHead GRASP logo MarkusRost (talk) 17:07, 3 April 2019 (UTC) (edited 18:24, 3 April 2019 (UTC))
Support Minecraft_Wiki:Parity issue list for the same reason as MarkusRost, and sentence case seems more natural. –Sonicwave talk 17:16, 3 April 2019 (UTC) (edited 18:03, 3 April 2019 (UTC))
Why not "Minecraft Wiki:Parity issue list", sentence case? --AttemptToCallNil (report bug, view backtrace) 17:18, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
To be honest, I didn't even think about changing the case, adding those to the humble list of suggested locations. FVbico (talk) 17:35, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Support "Minecraft Wiki:Parity issue list" (sentence case).  Oppose Projects/ subpages for the same reason as MarkusRost, and  Oppose title-case variants because title case is not necessary. --AttemptToCallNil (report bug, view backtrace) 17:50, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Support option 3: sentence case and this is not a project. – Nixinova Nixinova sig1 Nixinova sig2 06:32, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

There’s a clear consensus for option3: Minecraft_Wiki:Parity_issue_list (and Minecraft_Wiki:Unintuitive_ID_list)

But before we move it, I’d like one more option considered (sorry, only now just though of this option, and my preference actually goes to this): Minecraft_Wiki:Offical_lists/Parity_issues (and Minecraft_Wiki:Official lists/Unintuitive_IDs)

Please tell me what your opinions are on this location. FVbico (talk) 09:04, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

I don't think there's going to be many pages that'd go into an "Official lists" top level page. Just these two, unless you have more of them planned. Maybe there are other "official" pages though, like bedrock addon information etc, and they aren't lists. If you go for subpaging, it could be a good idea to possibly combine it with that. Otherwise, I'd also go for option 3. But if this becomes a series of subpages, grouping them under one top level page is definitely interesting, similar to the Tutorials discussion. – Jack McKalling [ Grid Book and Quill Grid Diamond Pickaxe ] 09:17, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
I’ve asked some minecraft staff to see what they’d think about moving them to either Official_pages/... or Minecraft_Wiki:Official_pages/... we’ll see what the replies will be. FVbico (talk) 11:20, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Got a reply, Helen likes to see the pages moved there, the rest of Mojang doesn't really care, as long as they have up-to-date links for their pages. FVbico (talk) 18:13, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Thrown trident has proper lighting

"Thrown trident has proper lighting" -- what does this mean? - tryashtar (talk) 05:01, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Most entries were originally taken from the exclusive features pages, this is one of them, so I'm not sure myself. I'll try to find what exactly the difference islater today. FVbico (talk) 05:03, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Better searchability

Right now, it's rather hard to find a certain entry when looking for it to see if it's listed, mainly because the list is so big, and only globally categorized.

Anyone have any suggestions to improve it? FVbico (talk) 06:42, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Well then, nobody got any ideas? How sad. FVbico (talk) 08:26, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Further subcategorisation, like what we do in version pages (using ;s), may help. – Nixinova Nixinova sig1 Nixinova sig2 08:46, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
I altered the Blocks list of bedrock already, it seems to help already, but not sure to what extend if the whole page is changed to match it. FVbico (talk) 09:49, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
I always search for specific keywords with Ctrl + F or the built-in find in page feature if one exists, and I also think that subcategorization will tremendously help. – ItsPlantseed|⟩ 10:12, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Console Parities

Console Edition has it's differences, why isn't it in this list?73.208.227.101 21:53, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

The only remaining console version is PS4 and since it's based on (and will soon merge with) bedrock edition there is no need for a console parity list.  Nixinova T  C  21:59, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
"and will soon merge with", that's actually still speculation; neither sony, nor mojang has announced it to be true.
But yes, only PS4 remains and is basically the same as bedrock at this point. FVbico (talk) 22:34, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
So if I made a console edition section you would delete it?73.208.227.101 20:53, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
It's not needed, as it's mostly in parity with bedrock as it is, and I'd not recommend adding it as it makes the list even harder to sort out just for a few parity issues between bedrock and console.
And as stated, it's likely (but unconfirmed) that PS4 will be changed to be bedrock too. FVbico (talk) 21:01, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Upcoming / Until templates

About {{upcoming}}/{{until}} templates, I do not really agree with some of their uses on this page. For example, I will use the sentence Beds can set the spawnpoint of a player during the day.. This functionality is in the Bedrock edition, and not in the Java edition. In 1.15, it will be added to the Java edition. Then, when 1.15 will be out, this sentence will be removed from the page as this is no longer a parity issue. If the {{until}} template means this line will be removed in this version, I think it should be better to use it instead of an {{upcoming}} template. Derugon (talk) 10:00, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
