Strange categorizing

People keep adding new category GUI when there already is INTERFACE.

GUI = Graphical User Interface
      G         U    I

Does not the interface equal to gui? 93.106.240.108 15:22, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I think its probably a good idea to keep in-game interfaces (e.g. health meter, crafting interface, furnace interface) separate from external interfaces (e.g. menus and options). That seems to be what the categories are going for, but the titles need to be a bit more explicit... --Mattrition 10:05, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Re-arranging Instructions

I have reworked the Instructions section so that, I hope, it is more accessible and readable. My draft is at User:Mattrition/new_known_bugs_template. I wanted to get feedback on it before I changed the template, in case of omissions or things I could word better. --Mattrition 10:32, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

  • I already said I think it's a significant improvement, and I think the latest version is still more so. On a related subject, I've had a draft go at clarifying how we define bugs and annoyances. That's in my user space here: User:Simons_Mith/Classifying_bugs. Do you think it's worth linking that in, to give further guidance for people and put a consistent policy down where people can actually see it? I definitely agree with your comments here and there about the misuse of the annoyance tag for things which are really genuine, if very minor, bugs. Simons Mith 23:03, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

A different format of an error report isn't a bug

Exactly what the title says. A different format of the error report should be listed under feature, not bugs. Listing a different format of an error report as a bug that causes the client to crash... is actually funny. How can an error report cause a game to crash, while it is GENERATED if the game crashes. The person listing it actually says the game crashes, while it is crashing -_-' 212.64.32.67 15:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

P.S. An abusefilter that doesn't allow you to bypass it, is annoying too. Hopefully someone with autoconfirmed passes by... 212.64.32.67 15:53, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I'll move the report here for now, because I completely agree. Maybe if the original submitter explains themselves, we can move it back in the form of a proper bug report--Mattrition 16:46, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

[!!] [?] When the game crashes, the error report has a different format:

  • So? What's the issue? --Mattrition 11:09, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Graphical & Lighting Image Rearrangement

I'm not sure that's an improvement. On my browser, (Firefox 11.0 Mac), the the headings for the Annoyances subsection and the next main section (Languages) now flow besides the section image for my 'crystal clear water' bug. That's why I centred the image in the first place (and I assume the other poster just followed my formatting). More whitespace, yes, but at least there was no overlap with the following sections. Or is that just a browser funny on my browser? Simons Mith 17:42, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

It's the same in my browser (chrome) and, to me, it looks fine. It's the same layout that all wikipedia pages use with their images. The thumbnails "float" in the text, but you can still easily work out which image is for what bug. Just change the thumbnails back to "centre" if it feels too wrong for you. I didn't really mind it the way it was before, it just looked a bit odd breaking up the bug report list :) --Mattrition 18:35, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
