Crashing
- If you have a stack or block of 'Block 97' (Silverfish block), putting the mouse over it while in the Inventory screen crashes the game with a 'Saving Chunks' screen. --ClassyCreeper15 15:30, 29 September 2011 (UTC) ClassyCreeper15
- Getting killed by an arrow, shot by a dispenser crashes the server. 89.0.78.67 16:40, 29 September 2011 (UTC) Zinnusl
When I create a new world it says "Switching Level" then it crashes.
- What do you mean by 'crashes'? OS? Java version? --96.49.116.92 17:18, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
I got the same error and the game creates a text file with this in it:
- A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:

Gameplay
- Fence Gate Bug
Fences do not block player movement for the entire block anymore, which is a feature i know but it doesnt work for fence gates. So when walking next to a fence, you will suddenly get stuck on the gate. --0M9H4X 20:15, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Fence Bug
When placing a nether rack fence next to a normal fence, they will not attach to each other. Although each type of fence will connect to a fence gate. Using the gate will allow you to attach the nether rack fence and normal fence together. Not sure if this was present in 1.9.1 or if it is a bug at all. --Throex 15:09, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Diagonal fences no longer block movement. --Fett0001 16:29, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Pressure plates (stone and/or wood) can be attached to wooden "Fence" posts, can not be attached to "Nether Brick Fence" --71.193.183.45 18:59, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Pressure plates on wooden "Fence" posts now activate (click) when you get next to them, do not activate when you stand on top of the fence. If the intent was just to create a hackish way to create a table, should the table really "click" when I approach it? --71.193.183.45 19:10, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Enderman Bug
Enderman seem to disappear after touching water. If you hit them, have them follow you to water, instead of teleporting away from it, they just disappear. Anyone else confirm? --Throex 15:46, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Breeding
If you have a single piece of wheat in your hot bar and then right click on a mob, the wheat will not vanish from the hotbar and can be used over and over, the wheat will then be unable to be stacked and if thrown on the ground will not be able to be picked up.
- Are you sure you were not in creative mode? --Throex 16:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Definitely the case in survival, you can also spawn infinite amounts of wheat by rightclick-dropping wheat in your inventory.
In the 1.9 pre-release, when you feed wheat to a mob while holding only 1 wheat, it causes that wheat to become infinite. You may also use right click to drop the wheat from your inventory and it will create multiple wheats on the ground for you to pick up.
Non-livestock mobs sometimes respond in strange ways to wheat. Snow-golems will target you and follow you like normal when wielding wheat - but their targetting includes attacking you.
Snow-golems appear to attack each other instead of breed when attempting to feed them wheat, although they were surely not meant to be able to breed.
Wolves (neutral and hostile) don't breed but show hearts like normal when fed wheat.
Other mobs may react oddly also. 4.244.150.233 17:13, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
When you left click a mob in Creative with wheat in your hand, the wheat will disappear. --Porygon27 20:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Hardcore Mode
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/File:HCMerror.jpg
I have noticed that no matter what game mode is set, survival, hardcore or creative when you click "More world options" you will see on the bottom left "World is deleted upon death". Pretty sure this is a bug, considering that it is displayed even with hardcore mode off. --Throex 15:01, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Confirmed --96.49.116.92 16:36, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Furnace is not working properly, cannot use sticks and such as fuel.
- Hostile mobs not spawning in hardcore mode.
- If Difficulty Mode is set to Peaceful in options before you create a new Hardcore game, monsters will not spawn. You must exit your hardcore world and change the difficulty in another game before monsters will spawn in your hardcore world. 174.61.145.17 19:22, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Graphical (GUI)
How do you post pictures on this Wiki? If you see this screenshot I took, you'll see a graphical glitch with the XP bar:imgur.com/qWXHl Shouldn't we have a graphical bugs section? EDIT: I just created a new section for graphical bugs. By the way, I am running on Mac OS 10.7.1
- This bug seems to appear when you start the game right after the update, it will disappear when you collect EXP.91.21.113.57 15:40, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Centrophobia
(this explains Centrophobia's post in text format) There is a bug with the experience bar were if you used 1.9pre1 and gained a lot of experience, there would be multiple bars, once you kill yourself in water, it will be back to normal Micheal 17:17, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
This problem also effects Windows 7 users Micheal 17:23, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Now that F5 looking at yourself is back, you can see your inner face graphic punch though the outer "hat" layer of the skin when up close and crouching.
The leaves of lily still do not have a name in the inventory. Now an empty textbox is shown when the cursor flows above them. Hope I chose the topic right. Dhalek 19:13, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Memory/CPU
- Whereas the lag from 1.9pre1 has been all but dissipated, the game will still cause an almost insane amount of cpu usage and causes the temperature of the processor to climb to dangerous heights. Some people on the forums have suggested that it has something to do with the JAVA IO thread priority of the world generation found in the bn.class. This bug is found across all platforms and processor types, although it might not be as noticeable on newer machines.
Here is the link to that topic: [1]
Mobs
- Normal Spiders can attack the player out in daylight in Hardcore mode. Kyle8497 15:49, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- They always have been able to do so - if they see you while it is dark out, they will lock on and follow you for as long as possible -regardless if it becomes daylight
- Mooshrooms and Cows can interbreed, creating a child that can be either mob, intentional?
- All passive mobs don't follow you when wheat is selected.
- Works fine for me, all mobs follow me. --Throex 16:29, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Pigs do, sheep and cows don't. Was in CSP. --96.49.116.92 16:38, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- I was in CSP when testing it as well. I never came across cows, but sheep and pigs followed me everywhere. --Throex 16:39, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Tested in CSP as well. Cows (and Mooshrooms) followed me just fine, though I could only seem to get two "wild" ones to follow at once. When they bred, the offspring would then follow as well. — minrice2099 (talk - contribs) 17:30, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

- To Make breed two same colored sheeps don't take a colored sheep.
- Snow Golems become aggressive when wheat is held.
- Confirmed. Causing a "hurt" animation while no longer holding wheat will stop it from attacking you. — minrice2099 (talk - contribs) 17:30, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- In creative I can make Snow Golems in the desert and they don't melt.
- Animals "held" by wheat will stop moving if you get out of follow range so long as you continue holding the wheat. — minrice2099 (talk - contribs) 17:30, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Don't know if this is suppose to be the case but Endermen spawn in daylight and teleport every second. When one looks at them they scream and teleport far away instead of attacking. Anyone else get this?
- Seems to be on purpose. During the day they do their thing as normal yet when you get within a certain radius they teleport away from you. With no teleport animation it looks like they are just glitching.
Nether portals
Server
Using an ender pearl to teleport disconnects from the server for "hacking?".
- Are you running an updated server? --Ianweller 16:22, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- ^Thats propably due to a plugin installed used against cheaters or excessive laggers. Its most likely not been updated to know about ender-pearl-teleporting so it thinks youre hacking. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by 0M9H4X (Talk|Contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I've addressed this problem on the ender pearl page, the "hacking" kick is triggered when player movement speed is above 10 blocks in distance in too short a time. --Wizjany 20:26, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Sound
Opening chests still does not have any sound. Maybe it's intentional because I think I remember chests were silent in 1.7.3 and before, but in 1.8.1 the sound of opening a door was played when opening a chest. Dhalek 19:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- This is almost certainly related to the pre-release nature of the game. Some sounds aren't properly packaged with the jar. — minrice2099 (talk - contribs) 19:22, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Spawning
Animals (I saw only pigs though) will spawn on the tree branches inside the leaves of large trees
- Maybe not a new bug, but it's confirmed here (screenshot). — minrice2099 (talk - contribs) 18:42, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Water
the first time I spawned in my minecraft 1.7 world with 1.9 (in 1.8 chunks), i die instantly when the breathing bar is up, my health doesn't decline, I just die instantly, this only happened once, it is back to normal thereafter Micheal 17:13, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Weather
Confirmed
Biomes
Big trees that spawn can't naturally retain their shape. Braking one outer leaf can start a chain reaction of deterioration.
Creative Mode
You will punch mobs through several layers of blocks before removing any block in front of you.

SMP
The Minecraft Server cannot shut down cleanly and always results in loss of data when you do so! The server does not save the world when you close it due to the threaded chunk-saving. Because the thread that saves chunks is marked as a daemon thread, it is interrupted when you give the 'stop' command to the server, meaning any unsaved chunks are lost forever.
