Item dropping, picking up, stacking bugs

-When in creative mode, you cannot pickup objects while in flying mode - some items when dropped cannot be picked back up - some items when picked back up do not stack and become infinite (so it seems) - when in a crafting menu and you escape with items still in the grid the items are duplicated and the duplicates can not be picked up

Creative Mode Bug: Slabs

- When in Creative Mode, a player is unable to complete an entire block of Slabs when there is a solid block above it. For example: if a Dirt block is above just one Stone Slab, you will not be able to complete the Stone Slab block by placing another one directly on top of it; the upper Dirt block prevents the placement and completion of the entire Stone Slab block which sits directly beneath it.

Mob Bug

- over 1500 entities can spawn at once, causing game to have severe lag.

Endermen Bugs

-Endermen, when looked directly at, often do not stop and stare like they're supposed to, instead they run towards the player and sometimes teleport in random places, even if the player isn't too far away. Most of the time teleporting directly behind the player.

-If the player is far away (but still close enough to see the Enderman,) looking directly at the Enderman doesn't seem to make it hostile.

-Endermen all fall down and die in rain, without making any attempt whatsoever to get under cover or in a cave. They just stand there and take the death as if nothing were happening. Is this supposed to happen?

-If an Endermen looks at you while your cursor is on it, you can punch and damage it even if it would normally be out of range.

-Endermen also sound identical to zombies. Not sure if that's intended or not, but it sort of removes their supposed fear inducing state (since zombies aren't scary)

-Enderman doesn't seem to want to "lock eyes" and attacks right away.

-In creative mode having you back to a wall while an Enderman is running towards you causes him to vanish.

Lighting Bug

-Your arm may sometimes go black

-Torches do not give off a warm glow as it was said they would. Rather, they give off a white light whilst only sunlight gives off the warm glow. I believe it should be the other way around? Also - I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but I find it odd that lava doesn't give off a warm glow. Mac OSX

-In creative (and possibly survival), all blocks remain lit as if it is daytime when you switch to night, except mobs which appear as darkened/black sillhouettes against the bright terrain. As a side-effect, surface-exposed caves receive the orange lighting effect from the sun rather than the blue moonlight. -When lava generates lighting sometimes does not render.

-Sometimes on world load corners of rooms will be in shadow, even if there are torches nearby.

-Blocks nearer to a torch appear white/blue, whilst blocks farther away from the torch appear warmly coloured (not same as bug described above.)

-I think the lighting sources are mixed up - setting stuff on fire with the flint and steel produced a blue light, instead of a warm light. Aside from that, torches produce a white glow instead of a warm glow. Mac OSX

-Placing a torch underwater, the water then destroys the torch, but there is still lighting left for where the torch was.

-The lighting on the lowest step of the new stairs (stone brick and brick) is extremely dark regardless of surrounding light conditions.

- (Mac OSX) when loading an old world in 1.8, some chests appear as all black (as if entirely unlit). Fixed by destroying then replacing chest, or by placing a torch near the chest to light it (fixed upon removal of torch)

Creative Mode Despawn Glitch

When in Creative mode items (and possibly entities in general) never despawn, causing extremely low framerate.

No Light Glitch

-When facing certain directions in creative, The character looks completely dark as if he is in an unlit cave.

-Under some blocks in SMP (and SSP?) it is comepletely dark, when you are standing in it, your character turns completely black.

-When mining under gravel, the newly empty blocks do not always update their lighting, leaving darkness behind.

Creative mode Arrows Bug

When you give your self an arrow from the creative menu and then shoot the bow you lose the arrow and need to get another.

      ^You are supposed to have unlimited arrows on creative without putting  arrows in your hotkey bar

--Shift clicking will give you a full stack of 64 arrows

While shooting your bow and switching to another item or block will make your bow unusable.

Creative mode maps

pretty minor, but maps put into inventory from the item palette are always centered on the spawn. (always spawning map_0?)

  • Maps don't render anything (sometimes) - they're just blank.

Iron Bars, Fences.

Iron Bars, Fences, and some other items can now be placed on top of tall grass. This shouldn't happen.

Mushroom Breaking Glitch

When another block goes next to a mushroom(like Cactus) it breaks. This does not seem to be affecting mushrooms that spawned when the world generated, and it makes the spread of mushrooms difficult. Farming is also very hard now.

Creative Mode Time Warp (F6, F7) Keys are unpredictable

When using these keys, it is very difficult to return to normal time-speed as the buttons seem to increment/decrement the time flow in inconsistent values.

It constantly ramps up the longer you hold down the key. If you let go it degrades down to normal time.

Ok so while in survival mode you can still controll the time with the F6/7 keys

Upon exiting and re-entering a world, the time is set to what it would normaly be (ie, as if it was not manupulated with F6/F7)

Hunger Bar, EXP Bar

The Hunger and EXP bar do not seem to always be generated when creating a new world, and only some new worlds do not have these functions.

The hunger bar sometimes dose not go down (if you have eaten recently enough, or are on peaceful, the hunger bar will not go down)

List of bugs

When render distance set to far there is still fog if set the medium

If you press F5 go partway underwater with creative mode, theres a weird water glitch.

Iron door is two colors, maybe a lighting problem with torches.

Half of NCP villages have modified roofs and parts.


Apart from the water bug above, when jumping up in water there appears to be a strange border in the background which will flash back and fourth while jumping.

While in a mine shaft, rapidly and repeatedly trying to place a torch on a stone block located next to gravel will sometimes turn the stone block into a block of gravel.

While charging a bow, if you press the left mouse button, when the arrow is fired, it automatically sends off a melee hit as well.

No matter what the render distance is, it is still laggy as crap (I usually get 40 - 60 fps and now I get 2 - 15)

Smelting\Cooking (SMP)

This doesn't always crash. In fact, I only had it crash when I used wood and beef. Ever since then, I cannot get it to crash with any fuel source and any item smelting. Here is the crash data from my original crash:

When putting wooden planks, sticks or coal into a furnace in SSP, the game shows the 'Saving Chunks' screen, freezes, and crashes.


Sometimes the items you put into a crafting table fall to the ground and become un-pickupable.

Smelting causes black screen

In Single player, when I go to smelt anything, I get the 'Saving chunks' screen and then a black screen. After closing minecraft and logging in again, the smelting is occuring, but after placing anything else in the furnace, there is a chance it crashes again (though not necessarily every time)

Raw Chicken bug

When cooking Raw Chicken in a furnace, can make your game crash.

Cooking bug

The cooking timer when cooking does not reset after it is replaced with another food. It remains active as if not replaced and produces the food in the furnace after timer finished.

Sugar cane bug

Sugarcane are randomly spawning on sand, its not major, it just seemed out of place.

You can also place sugarcane on sand, so I assume this is not a bug.

This is a bug, unless intentionally implemented by Notch. Doesn't work in 1.7.3

Food in general

You cannot eat a mushroom stew and will not regenerate the hunger bar.

      • Right click needs to be held down in order to eat it

Logs

when trying to turn logs into charcoal the game crashes.

Crafting

I wasn´t able to pick up planks which dropped on the ground after i closed the craftingtable. A single block remained, after I received all my other blocks.

=== sprite bug ===

if you don't take the items out of the crafting grid before you close the inventory it causes the items to be stuck on the floor. Although you can pick up the items the sprites still remain until restarted the game.

I had this problem several times. It happens if you exit the crafting table with items still on it. The items then are picked up but ghost items are left. Note: the ghost items can be moved by placing blocks

Administration Concerns - Seeds in F3

Seeds can be seen in F3(devloper view). This can be used by Xray mods to by-pass antixray plugins on servers. An option to shut off seeds should be available.

This is a feature request for 1.8 not a bug -Neobenedict
As far as I know, ores do not depend on the seed, so the actual benefit is questionable. -thebetter1

Trees generated over water

I have encountered small pond (with squids...) with some trees above it without any dirt below wood, just as the trees where generated first and pond added later, also trees in water

^Trees are few blocks above water not touching it - hanging in air. I made a screenshot so I can show it, map seed was 21, but I forgot where it was.

NPC Village - Doors at wrong level

In NPC Villages all houses' door's of one building are at the same level, so that you can't reach all from the ground. Beds

Mobs spawn while sleeping even when you box it in and light it.

Full sleep animation occurs when getting into bed, but still wake up in the middle of night, although there are no mobs around and the place is fully lit.

When Sleeping, the night is not skipped.

Gravel roads sinking into caves, village on water

If there is cave below village gravel roads may fall down into it leaving deep holes in a middle of a road.

Moreover villages could be generated half way into ocean, so some buildings are inaccessible standing in the middle of water.

Creative Mode Mob bug

You can hit any mob at any distance, and through objects.

Saplings grow to replace blocks

Saplings can replace blocks with leaf blocks when they grow. (tested with natural growing not bonemeal)

Trees

Immediately when I logged in, there were seeded trees that had spawned hovering over some of the randomly seeded lowered ponds that have been in most versions. So, essentially, derp trees that were being naughty and grew where they shouldn't have lol.

Creative Mode - Glowstone Light Retained Underwater

If you Break Glowstone Underwater in creative mode, the Light does not go away.

Missing block crushing texture

When you destroy some blocks around without leaving your mouse button point to the block below you and it will be crushed without animation-pattern of crushing. If you start mining from block below you there will be animation as usual. Chest Blocks also have no crushing animation.


EDIT: I can confirm this. It happens in both the Real world and the Nether.

Unlimited Planks Glitch

There is a glitch that happens when you are crafting, keep planks in the bench, then press escape. It drops the planks, but all the planks become unlimited. Also, the planks duplicate when you try to move them in your inventory or in a chest.

note: this doesn't just happen with planks

Daytime Mobs

On occasion I have had mobs spawn in daylight, above ground.

Yes, mostly Creepers and Zombies.

Constant Heal

The health bar regenerates, even when not on peaceful difficulty, and without eating food.

^ That's how health is regained in 1.8 - Over time if you have enough food on food bar.

^ But its infinite if if the food bar regens! but they don't call it beta testing for nothing!

Creative Mode Furnace Bug

If you right click a furnace it's bring's up the inventory.

Creative Mode Inventory Bugs

There are some missing items in the Item Selection screen in the new Creative Mode:

-Bonemeal
-Jack O' Lantern
-Grass
-Birch/Redwood Saplings
-Snow (the thin Layer, not the block)
-All 16 dyes (including Lapis Lazuli, Cocoa Beans and Bone Meal)

Opening the Inventory on Creative Mode shows the Item Selection screen, but using a furnace/dispenser/crafting table still shows the normal 36 slotted inventory. Items picked up that don't fit in the hotbar go into the normal 36 slot inventory. The creative mode should still have a normal inventory and the item selection screen should be binded to a different key.

Creative Mode Door Bug

Punching a door will drop a door.

  • Right click to open them instead.
  • Creative mode includes instant break, so just right click.

Odd terrain generations

Abandoned mines don't play nice with ravines or vice versa.

The Experience bar doesn't show what level you're on, or how much experience you have.

SMP - TNT

Light Underwater

If a torch is placed underwater, the light it created remains. (Tested only in creative mode).

Terrain/Structure Generation

-If a if a ravine is generated through a mineshaft, the wooden supports will not be removed and will stay in mid-air.

-Grass sometimes is found underground and in deep ravines, where there is no sunlight reaching it.

  • Caves generated next to water tiles will cause the tiles to act like it's against an invisible barrier (until the block underneath is destroyed). Long Range Animal Attacking

Creative Water Buckets

Water buckets empty and you have to keep adding them to your inventory to use multipul water "blocks"

Mobs do not spawn

If the game setting is set to peaceful, no mobs of any kind spawn. Pigs, sheep, cow etc. Not even squid or wolves. I have two friends who also can confirm this happened on their client as well. Gemini523 02:33, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Water ReRouting

Dupe Glitch

When you place any item in a crafting bench then hit EE really fast then move it in your inventory it will make a infant block so you can have unlimited of any item.

SMP Add server screen

This was deleted as a dup but I don't see it anywhere.

Minecart

When hitting the minecart(in it and out of it) I could not hold down the left mouse button but had to hit it over and over. not sure if it's a bug or not

My wolves are stuck sitting
