Biscuit Discussion[]

[A] In English UK, Cookies have been renamed to 'Biscuit'. Not a major thing but, not necessarily a change that was needed or should've been made. Visually, they are cookies.

  • I second that it should be cookies. calling them biscuits is just wrong. --User:Kizzycocoa 21:02, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
  • When I go to a Greggs, Asda, McDonalds, Tescos or Poundland they do not sell chocolate chip biscuits. They sell cookies. Need I go on, or has my point been made? Over here, "Cookie" is correct. --User:Kizzycocoa 23:02, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Fair enough but there no other cookies in the game to call 'Biscuits' and the stereotypical UK word for cookie is biscuit Not saying Monjng are racist, they just take a poke at these things sometimes. I also condensed your edit. --5ives 05:36, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
  • This is not the right place for a discussion about that. Please go to crowdin.net. --Kumasasa 07:30, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
My comment does not make it's effect quite as much condensed, but for the sake of the page, I won't revert it.
Regardless, I am english. I can assure you, a cookie is a cookie, and a biscuit is not a cookie. In all 18 of my years of existence I have never, ever, ever heard of cookies being called biscuits.--User:Kizzycocoa 21:01, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Well, Mr. Englishman, as a native speaker you should've understood my words: This is not the right place for a discussion about that. Please go to crowdin.net. Instead of uselessly cluttering this page with some strange nitpicking about food, you should vote at crowding.net for the correct "translation" and discuss there. --Kumasasa 21:30, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
  • The word 'cookies' would be right for these particular types of biscuits. [Anyone] Please pay more attention to the bit in the instructions that asks for long discussions to be moved to the talk page. Thx. Further, the primary location for reporting bugs and mistakes in Minecraft should be the Minecraft bug tracker. So reporting it here, and discussing it on the talk page, is correct, and I'm a bit dubious that referring people to some other third-party site (I'd never heard of crowdin.net till it was mentioned here) is appropriate. Finally as using 'biscuit' for 'cookie' is genuinely a mistake this issue should be classed as a minor bug not an annoyance. --Simons Mith[82.69.54.207] 03:46, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

*Sorry, I'd assume, that the minecraft translation site is well-known. That's the appropriate place for translation issues. There anyone can vote about the existing translation proposals or can commit own proposals if the existing are not appropriate. And also the translations can be discussed there. The votes for Cookie vs. Biscuit are now 3:3, it needs just one more vote for Cookie to win... --Kumasasa 05:52, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
