Some new initiatives coming
Once we have completed the migration of MCW to Gamepedia, Curse is starting some new initiatives for all of our wiki communities. Some things that you can look forward to are contests and giveaways for editors, as well as more rewards for our committed admin teams!
Along with these rewards we are also setting up better lines of communications between Curse and the admin teams, which will include periodic newsletters to let you know what is happening, not only on MCW, but across the Gamepedia network.
To be included in these reward programs, and our communications, we need to make sure we have current contact information, email addresses, as well as snail mail addresses (so we can send you the cool swag). So... Any of you wishing to participate, please email me at wynthyst"at"gmail.com with your info, and I will get our list updated. I PROMISE we will never share or sell this information, and you can opt out at any time. For those of you who provided contact information for our last thank you gift, I still have it, I just need to know if anything has changed.
You guys rock! I know we don't say it enough, but we think it every day. I can't imagine what MCW would be like without ALL of you and your hard work and dedication to making this THE place to get information on all things Minecraft! -- Wynthyst

Language Links
Hi there,
There are a lot of protected pages on the english wiki, and that's good, but it's kind of annoying that we can't add language links to the other wikis, will there be a solution for this in the future that we can edit the language links without editing the entire page?
-- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 11:53, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Make a list here of the pages that need language links, and one of the admins of the English wiki will get them added (or I will do it myself). -- Wynthyst

- That's nice of you/admins but not very efficient, can't you/someone else add a feature to the wiki like it is on wikipedia? -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 13:01, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- He might be referring to wikidata. Their language links are kept in a centralised location instead of on each wikipage. I don't know if there's the ability to have your own local data storage though. Wikipedia's is a separate site that other sites can pull data from, like wikimedia commons. We could of course use that, but it would be more convenient if it was a separate storage just for MCW. –ultradude25 ᐸ Talk

MediaWiki
Hello,
Is there a list of MediaWiki pages that can be editted on this wiki, like MediaWiki:Sitenotice and Mediawiki:Sidebar? I'm often struggling to find them. -- TheWombatGuru t | c NL Admin 11:04, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Spam Users (NL)
Since we migrated to Gamepedia we noticed a lot of new (english) users who keeps spamming. Of course the filter fix and block it all, but still. Is there a way to fix the new users problem, the cat thing looks compromised? - CrazyBliep NL Admin 06:54, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
Universal bans
It just dawned on me that I should share this bit of information with all of you... should have done it awhile ago, I just didn't think of it.
With the migration to the Gamepedia platform, blocks on any of the Minecraft wiki are now universal. Please make sure you are using your ban tools responsibly, and DO NOT PERMA BAN. This especially includes the abuse filters. NONE of the filters should be set to blocking users. Abuse filter bans are permanent bans and are now in place universally on the Gamepedia network. Thanks! -- Wynthyst

1.7 update
With the 1.7 update planned for this coming Friday, I just want to remind admins to be on their toes, and online as much as possible. Do not be nazi ish about people making changes, but be on the look out for people adding bogus/bad information. We anticipate the traffic to the wikis is going to be HUGE. -- Wynthyst

Problem with "collapsible" tables at the French wiki
Hi, we have a problem with "collapsing" at the French wiki since I've updated the "Mediawiki:Common.js" page. Button to extend/hide content in the tables doesn't appear anymore. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you — Itouchmasterpro d c 20:19, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Changes requested for Russian wiki
Since I'm new here, I didn't want to step on any toes and just make changes without getting some sort of approval/concensus on process. Ivan r has requested a promotion to bureaucrat of the Russian wiki, citing that the existing bureaucrat has left (and indeed, I see no contributions from that user - HEKP0H - since February 8, 2014). He has also asked about creating new user access level groups (something else I am not familiar with that is used here, so perhaps one of you could answer him, or let me know how you'd like to proceed.) — Game widow (talk) 15:53, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
