Question
Will bots be affected? If they will be, how? --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 16:32, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- It's particularly interesting how should we (bot users) handle new authorization system. Could you tell if pywikipedia's login scripts work on other upgraded wikies? Norrius 16:37, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
MedaWiki version
Any particular reason it's only being upgraded to 1.19.7, rather than 1.21.1? -- Orthotope talk 16:49, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- The first step is to get all the wikis synced up on 1.19.7. Once that is done, all the wikis will be upgraded to 1.21.x. We see this happening before the end of the year. -- Wynthyst

Sidebar
NO MORE SIDEBAR :D
best news ever. --Kizzycocoa 22:00, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- You could always have hidden it... — t numbermaniac c 01:51, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- The problem with the sidebar is that eats up horizontal space the entire length of the page, and displays on top of wide content such as tables and images. A smaller panel that article content can flow around will provide a better experience for everyone. I appreciate that Curse has responded to the complaints about it, even if it took them a couple of years. -- Orthotope talk 10:43, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Yay!
I must say I'm excited for the new design. Sounds promising. Will this enable the bytes changed numbers on history pages? — t numbermaniac c 02:21, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- Is four days later too late to give my opinion? I, personally, am enthusiastic about the migration because it appears to be something good for the wiki. I myself won't be able to enjoy the new look as a registered user, due to the email requirement. Meh... I'll be back. Happy editing everyone! --Sheepuff20 (T|C) 05:26, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Email accounts are easy to get, so this shouldn't be a barrier to anyone. -- Orthotope talk 06:18, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Don't start: We've been trying to get her to make an account for a long time now... — t numbermaniac c 07:21, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Files used in more than one wiki
Will this still be a problem? For example, you have to check if a file is used in the german or netherlands wiki, because they both are using the same database or something like that. --eagle3000 (D ~ B) 14:28, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- Currently, the Dutch, German and English wikis share image files. After the migration, each wiki will have it's own complete set of images, so no more file sharing. -- Wynthyst

Accounts
This may seem like a stupid question, but will accounts and ALL pages be migrated? I have spent huge amounts of time working on my userspace, and I don't want to lose it. File:Meeples10 signature.png ᐸ Talk

- Everything will be migrated. As long as you follow the user merge instructions it should be a seamless process. (Those instructions will be posted when we have an actual date for the migration) -- Wynthyst

How may I do so on other wikis
I have my own wiki and would like to know how to make my own wiki upgrade. Thanks in advance. ~ LABHOUSE (LH) 03:30, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Assuming you're using MediaWiki, see the relevant documentation on upgrading. -- Orthotope talk 03:38, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
user name merg
But I hate my curse name. can you make it so we can change are curse names and let them start with numbers like here.--007a83 (Talk|Contribs) 06:07, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- You will just need to choose your current wiki name as your display name. -- Wynthyst

- Are there separate display names for each Curse wiki on Gamepedia platform? --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 07:26, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Is the display name limited the same as the wiki where you can't have the name starting with a lowercase letter or have underscores? Does it have to be the same as the original wiki account, or can you change it? –ultradude25 ᐸ Talk

Email requirement
So would I be correct in saying that to stay on the wiki you need a curse account which requires an email? I think I already have a curse account, if that's how you register on the forums, but I'm just curious anyways. — t numbermaniac c 06:07, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, unless you wish to edit as an IP address only. If you already have a Curse account using an email address, simply go into preferences here and make sure you are using the same email address for your wiki account and everything should merge fine. -- Wynthyst

New url/redirect
Would it be possible to make minecraftwiki.net redirect to the new url? I don't exactly understand networking, but would it also be possible to have minecraftwiki.net be a usable alternate url thingy for minecraft.gamepedia.com? Not sure if this is possible, just suggesting it. Pokechu22 18:06, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- It would be nice that for example nl:minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Mojang would redirect to minecraft-nl.gamepedia.com/Mojang –Preceding unsigned comment was added by TheWombatGuru (talk • contribs) 19:02, 4 August 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Curse User Bar
will it look like it does now or like it does on the 0x10c wiki, AKA. --007a83 (Talk|Contribs) 20:01, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
