Instructions & Page Organisation
Bug Reporting
This page is for bugs that:
- Are found in the version of the game specified in the article's title.
- Are reproducible to a certain extent. Please provide a short description on how to reproduce your bug along with system specs if required.
You can read Classifying Bugs for further information on what you should and shouldn't add to this page.
Bug reports should be as concise as possible without anecdotal waffle or your own opinions. We want to keep a clean, easy-to-read list of bugs for the developers to check through. This is not a place to express gameplay ideas or improvements.
If you are unsure of an issue, it's good practice to post about it on the talk page to see whether others can reproduce it.
When adding your bug report:
- Always prepend it with one or more issue labels.
- Sign your report with --~~~~ so that we know who reported the bug.
- Leave a blank line between each bug report.
- Do not place bullet points before issue labels. They are reserved for use with comments.
Once you've added a bug report, please keep track of it. Others may post comments underneath your report requesting clarification or more information.
Bug reports that do not provide enough useful information or contain too much opinionated or anecdotal waffle may be subject to removal.
Commenting
When commenting on bug reports:
- Prepend your comment point with an indented bullet point using the code ":*".
- Place the comment directly below the bug report without leaving a blank line between them.
- sign the comment with --~~~~. This is a deliberate exception to the usual wiki conventions; normally you should only add signatures to content on talk pages.
Please don't let debates about whether something is or is not a bug get out of hand. Similarly, don't clog bug reports with discussions of workarounds or possible fixes. If a bug or annoyance exceeds 10-12 lines of follow-up comments, move the entire follow-up discussion to the talk page and link to the discussion under the original bug.
Page Moderation
Please do not spontaneously delete a bug report unless it is blatant nonsense submitted by an unregistered user. Try to contact the submitter by user-talk first and tell them about your concerns. Almost all active submitters will be co-operative. Always assume good faith.
You may also leave a comment explaining why you feel the bug should be removed, allowing time for others to weigh in on the decision or for the original poster to give additional information. Where possible, removal of a bug should be a group decision, not a decision made by a single individual.
Please make sure issues are given the correct category, type, and priority: issues with blocks go in the Blocks section, issues with mobs go into the Mobs section, and so on. List bugs in order of importance ( [!!] > [!] > [X] ). Annoyances go into the Annoyances subsection, with major ones [A!] before minor ones [A] . Issues that have been marked as fixed or skipped are moved to the Fixed/Skipped section. Issues that Mojang cannot reproduce should be left in their original place.
If a new version of Minecraft is released, create that page with {{subst:Known bugs}}. Any changes made to this header should also be made to this template.
Issue Labels
Use issue labels to indicate the importance and nature of a bug.
Mandatory issue labels come first, and must be one of the following:
- [!!] = {{bl|!!}} = Critical bug that can crash a Minecraft client or server.
- [!] = {{bl|!}} = Major bug. Use this tag sparingly; if there is consensus your bug is not major, it will be downgraded.
- [A!] = {{bl|a!}} = Major annoyance. Think very carefully before flagging an annoyance as major. Is it really more important than most minor bugs? Use this tag sparingly; if there is consensus your annoyance is not major, it will be downgraded.
- [X] = {{bl}} = Minor bug.
- [A] = {{bl|a}} = Annoyance. Note that this is not the same as feature requests, which is not what this page is for. Remember, leave gameplay ideas/solutions up to the developers.
Please also determine which game mode(s) your issue appears in, and flag it with the appropriate label(s) if any.[1] (Also, note that if, for example, a minor annoyance appears in both single-player and multiplayer, and also insurvival mode, you should label it as [A] , not [A] [SP] [MP] [Su] {.)
Optional labels can be added after mandatory labels.
Labels for indicating that an issue happens only in a particular game mode:
- [SP] = {{bl|sp}} = Single-player.
- [MP] = {{bl|mp}} = Multiplayer.
- [Su] = {{bl|su}} = Survival mode.
In addition, [?] = {{bl|?}} can be added to tag an issue that you are unsure of or that the community (on the discussion page) believes requires further vetting. Do not use this label to indicate this-is-not-a-bug. Instead, replace the issue's current label with [A] or [A!] . Furthermore, it is inappropriate to use this to flag something you disagree with. Instead, express your opinion in a comment.
Labels that 4J Studios (not you!) uses: (Please place these tags in front of existing issue labels. Do not remove the existing labels.)
- [F] = Issue for which a fix will appear in a future update.
- [N] = Not a bug; intended behavior. By definition, this label is inapplicable to annoyances. Annoyances are not bugs.
- [S] = Issue that will not be fixed in the next update.
- [U] = Issue that 4J has tested but was unable to reproduce.
To produce these labels, use the following code: {{bl|c}} where c is the code of the label you wish to use. (e.g., a for annoyances, etc.)
The default issue type is [X] ; you can produce this label with the shorthand {{bl}}.

Crashes & Stability
Bugs
[!!] The inventory isn't saved and when you load the game the default spawn point is used.
[!!] Saving underground causes you to spawn in a random underground cavern close to where you saved. Happened numerous times
[!!] If sitting idle for awhile and then trying to close out of the game without saving to load where to started to be idle causes xbox to lock up.
[!!] Game crashes now when I try to enter the nether. It has worked fine from the start until now. It seems to go until it is about to reach the load screen, then freezes.
- Same. Was able to enter Nether several times through two different portals. After save and reload game crashes.
[!!] Game crashed on save and exit (frozen Xbox, "Exiting the game" screen) after after an extended (4-5 hrs) MP session. World was not successfully saved, when reloaded the world was back to the way it was before the MP session. --ArcaniX5696
- To be honest, I hope I can't recreate this one... I have no idea what could help isolate the crash condition as the play session was too long to even start guessing... Is there anyway to do crash reports from the MCX360 version? --ArcaniX5696
- I encountered this bug too. Again, after 2-3 hours playing MP online. Luckily I had done a normal save a few minutes before but it was scary! --Wiki Visitor
- Same problem for me too, I played 2 hours, and then this bug happened. --Wiki Visitor
Game stops saving when you select save game but if you play the load the level back it will act like it was saved.( does not show save progression bar or text)CONFIRMED
[!!] Game crashes when trying to load a world, if you have dropped a iron block {9 iron crafting into block form} then save and exit. Tested on 3 separate worlds.
[!!] Game crashes when trying to load a world. Playing for extended amount of time. Saved the game then made a cake. Exited without saving on purpose. The save is no longer loadable.
[!!] Game crashes whenever a player changes a filter to what might be Worldwide.
- Assuming you refer to the leaderboards: when I was looking at them yesterday, I didn't crash when looking at the worldwide stats. Has anyone replicated this yet?
- This happened to me the first time around, but after a console restart it worked. 70.160.166.80 22:32, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- My original post had the 'leaderboards' part in it. I would still keep this as a bug as it shouldn't crash at all. Pokeneon7 12:30 AM, 11 May 2012 (EST)
[!!] Game crashes whenever 2 (and/or possibly more) players finishing mining the same block.
[!!] Once you enter the nether, then go to leave the nether it causes the game, making the player restart the console
- I have also had this issue, at first I didnt have the issue, but once I have played for an extended amount of time, I went back and tried to leave after mining some items, my game crashed.
[?] Auto-Save system is completely non-functioning!
- Related to my crash log above, I recall seeing the Auto-Save icon appear consistently during my 4-5 hour play session, yet all off the changes were lost when the game crashed. --ArcaniX5696
- Auto-Save only saves information related to your Xbox Live profile and player progress. The world must still be saved manually through the menu. The idiot who put the Captcha in forgot to include a submit button so I can't provide source links.--70.191.205.34 00:33, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
[?] Game randomly exits the map for unknown reasons with a message saying a connection to the server was lost.
- I'll assume you're talking about in an online session? I've had that happen to me a couple times.
- Not an online session, but offline. I am then back to the last time I saved when I load the world again.
- Well that bodes poorly. I removed the SP tag because it happens online as well, even when there aren't any network issues, so it must be something present in the game as a whole.
- I have been getting the same problem as well. I will load up my map and play for awhile, then i will check the leader boards and i get a message saying the server connection was lost. I then reload my world and find that everything I had done before checking leader boards, was lost. This has happened twice now and both times it has bugged me immensely.--xGoDLiiKex
- Same for me, i get disconnected from a "server" in SP. Happened heavily after having set a long redstone wire and made a long train line, on a part of the map.
- Did you have the session set to online or not? It may be that you're actually connected to a server when the game is set to online, regardless of whether or not client players are present. --8bitlove2a03 02:04, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
[!!] Game crashes when joining a game from the 'join a game' menu. (Not everytime though)
[!!] Game crashes by first having mined blocks respawn, then Xbox Window pops up claiming you have lost connection; thus forcing you back to the Main Menu and because of the Auto-Save system not functioning, you will be reverted back to last save.
If blocks are re spawning after you mine them then the connection is bad, that's minecraft lag I have had lots of experience with this
Gameplay
Bugs
[X] Clouds pass through a house built in the sky even though the house is sealed.
[!] When you use the 'Save' or 'Save and exit' options on single player, the next time you play on that world all the terrain, including what you have built, remains the same, but your spawn is moved to a different location nearby and your inventory, along with everything in your chests, is wiped.
- I have also had this, problem. Made changes to the world (mined built etc), and all changes are saved when I save and exit. However, when I load, I lose everything in my inventory and belt, and all of the items in my chests are repositioned to standard listing positioning. Also, spawn on load at original spawn point (spawn point when world is created).--jumpinghellmaster@gmail.com
[X] Game loads and the colors are darker than they should be plus the controllable character cannot turn in any direction but can only walk forward or backwards.
--You just need to go into the settings in the game turn the gamma and sensitivity up, dont know why but sometimes they change on their own
[X] pigs can jump over fences
[X] Arrows can bounce off of the player without hurting them.
[X] Arrows can hurt the player without touching them.
- I think that the game's physics engine calculates the trajectory of an arrow correctly, but the graphical engine is unable to keep up with them, whereas the sound is. The arrows appear to freeze multiple times and then 'teleport' to a further position in their trajectory; in particular the ones that you didn't fire yourself glitch out like this. --84.195.69.12 10:43, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
[?] Pressing B while in bed will permanently delete the item you are holding, instead of dropping it.
- Discussion on talk page questioning if this is a valid bug --ArcaniX5696
- This only happens to me sometimes when I press B while in a bed when playing split screen when not everyone is sleeping at the time. --84.195.69.12 10:43, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
[MP] Game sometimes randomly says players have left the game even when they are still connected. The player can move about and place blocks, but all the blocks will disappear shortly after being placed. A minute or two after the "player has left the game" message the player will be kicked to the main menu and told connection to the server was lost.
[X] Sometimes drops that are sitting in a hole, then displaced by filling the hole with a solid block, will bounce up onto the top of the newly placed block (as they should) but cannot be picked up. So far, removing the newly placed block has let me pick the drop up. --8bitlove2a03 02:04, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] If you shoot yourself with an arrow near your pet dog it will attack you --94.9.219.145 14:44, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Achievements Earned by a split screen player are no longer available to the main player. I have made several loaves of bread and still do not have Bake Time, same thing with the Acquire Hardware. I've loaded old games, and made new worlds and still cannot get these easy achievements. --173.29.45.231 02:25, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- confirmed i got the same problem not getting the achievements any more
[X] Squids can sometimes fly in the air 10 blocks above the water in multiplayer --94.9.219.145 14:44, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] You can sleep in a bed with only one block of air above it, and upon waking up your head could be embedded in stone or some other block above your bed, immobile and constantly taking damage unless you destroy the block you are stuck in.
[!] Infinite item duplication glitch. Steps are outlined below, as found on a Youtube demonstration video. Will provide link to Youtube video demonstrating it, but I'm not posting it here unless requested by someone from 4J, because people who exploit glitches instead of reporting them don't deserve additional views. --8bitlove2a03 18:41, 17 May 2012 (UTC) 1. You must have 2 people in the game you and a friend for this to work. 2. create a dispenser with 7 cobblestone 1 bow and 1 redstone 3. place your item in the dispenser as seen in the video I used diamond use whatever you'd like. 4. have your friend break the dispenser changing the item from 1 to 64. 5. put the 64 stack in your inventory and NOT your hot bar otherwise it wont work. 6. go over to your chest and place each item 1 by 1.
[!] You can create infinite gold ingots, iron ingots, diamonds and lapis. You will need 3 of the item you want to duplicate. In your inventory, arrange them into a group of 3 so they are side by side in your inventory.Go to a crafting table and choose the block version of your item (gold ingot > Gold Block), it will allow you to craft it. You can then go back to the ingot version and get 9 ingots back (even though the block was only made with 3). Repeat for more. TheMeq: 16:18 - 22/05/2012 (GMT)
Annoyances
[A] Manually saving after death without picking up dropped items from said death will delete those items from the world.
[A] The Invert setting on the camera isn't saved. I have to reset mine every time I log in.
[A] Coal (items?) can't be picked up if it is between 2 blocks, ie. the line in the middle.
- How do you mean? Like, if it's on the line between two blocks of grass? I'm trying to replicate but getting nothing here. Were you doing it online? It may just be a phantom drop issue due to a hitch in the server; happens in the PC version too. --156.26.221.54 22:10, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
[A!] [MP] Extreme lag is experienced when you play online with a guest.
[A] Your stats are sometime reset
[A] When using buttons to open Double-Doors (One for each door) one of the doors remains permanently open. Pressing one of the buttons closes its door and it re-opens, and the other button opens its door for a second and then closes (which should happen).
- this was a bug in the pc version, on pc it is fixed
[A!] It seems when sleeping, monsters may attack you no matter how secure your house is
[A!] When you make a T-flipflop it gets stuck after a few activations
[A!] if you use Pressure plates to activate a redstone circuit to open 2 doors the pressure plate might get stuck and keeps the doors open
[A] when i placed a block in front of me it would dissapear (this only happends occasionally)
--This happens to me if an animal goes where I am
placing a block.
[A] when trying to change filter in leaderboards
- Is this referring to the game crashing when changing the filter. If it is, this bug is mislabeled, misplaced, and it has already been added to the list. Please be more specific, sign with four tildes, and read the directions for bug reporting. Eipi10 15:46, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
Blocks & Fluids
Bugs
[X] When filling a bucket with either water or lava, the block taken reappears shortly after.
- It could be that you have an Infinite Water Source, though I have yet to replicate this with lava. --8bitlove2a03 17:55, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- I was able to recreate this bug with both water(single source on top of flat land) and lava.--68.55.74.114 05:15, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Pouring water may cause it to say but not spread out, and I can't make obidion because of this--mario610
[X] Pouring water from a bucket may cause it to either leave an extra water source, or leave no water source when pouring the water out. Pouring out lava also leaves no source sometimes.
[X] [MP] So far only encountered in split-screen: when player 2 attempts to pour the contents of a bucket somewhere, it disappears. Whether it be lava or water, on any terrain or in any location. It appears briefly then vanishes. Even after exiting, reloading, and second player logging in and out the problem occurs. However, player one is able to use the contents of their bucket, even in the same location as the second player with full success.
[X] I Played 4 hours and i saved the game and i came back in the Next day and it said again what is grass, sand and u now...
- Do you mean the tutorial popups which say what each block is? Also, could you please use proper English in your posts for the sake of clarity? --8bitlove2a03 17:55, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- What I think he is trying to say is that the tutorial style tips come up when he loads his world again. I had this problem on one server. Every time I would log back in and hit X it would pop up with the crafting tutorial that I would have to "A" through. I believe it was a Peaceful server and I was playing split screen.
[X] Sometimes blocks will not be selected when looked at (No outline, can't mine them, etc.). Looking at another face of the block may select it, but looking back to the other face again still does not work. Occurs near the edge of the map (Could be due to world limit? Confusing, however, because some blocks can be broken but others can't)
[X] Stone stairs (possibly wooden as well) sometimes glitch out and appear as a full cobblestone block.
- I'm having this issue too. Two stairs next to each other are blinking between stair and cobblestone texture. They are still able to be walked on though. --156.26.221.154 22:15, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
[F] Sugar Canes are solid (You can't walk through them). (Wasn't this true on the PC and this isn't a bug?)
On the PC version, Sugar Cane can indeed be walked through.
However that might be something they want changed for the 360 edition, or just due to the fact that it's still using version 0.6.6(I think) from pc Confirmed glitch unique to 360 edition
[X] When placing a water block that has been obtained from the ocean it disappears but when I get it from a cave source it's fine.
- I'm having a similar problem with Lava obtained from the surface pools in Multiplayer.
[?] Leaves often go unrendered for some people, causing trees to seem leafless, and people to walk into and bounce out of areas without a clue why. So far I've only encountered it while playing on others' worlds. Both the host and client players have been susceptible to the issue. Have had instance of both host and I being unable to see the leaves while another client could.
- Have experienced this from both a client and a host perspective. The leaves can usually be seen from the host's side but can still be broken by the client's even if they cannot see them. --156.26.221.154 22:20, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Minecarts seem to have poor collision detection causing minecarts with furnaces to phase through other carts instead of pushing them, I cant narrow down exactly what is causing this but when my furnace cart tries to push another cart up a ramp it stops moving for a bit while the two carts seem to try and occupy the same square before the furnace cart goes through the regular cart and continues on up the ramp
[X] If you manage to gain air from a very small air pocket, only a pixel deep, you will drown as if you hadn't, even with the extra bubbles on your HUD. --94.9.219.145 14:50, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] When mining with the last use of a pick before it breaks, sometimes the block you are mining will not drop. I have noticed this while using both stone and iron picks, as well as when mining coal and redstone respectively. --174.70.177.127 22:05, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Mob Spawners in Dungeons display only pigs models inside them but will spawn zombies or skeletons. Unsure if this affects all types of mob spawners.
- That glitch used to be in the PC version but now its fixed in 1.2.
[X] Lava duplication glitch. Can be done by placing, then rapidly picking the lava back up with multiple different buckets. Will provide link to Youtube video demonstrating it, but I'm not posting it here unless requested by someone from 4J, because people who exploit glitches instead of reporting them don't deserve additional views. --8bitlove2a03 18:41, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Annoyances
You cannot place a sign and exit out of the text menu immediately, because it will leave the "awaiting authorization" on the sign. Instead, you have to edit at least one line of text.
[A] Signs sometimes go back to the "awaiting approval" temporary message for no apparent reason (I'v seen this on two occasions)
- I have seen this too. Happens when a laggy server saves. ~~ signed by Brickman2011 ~~ 22:13, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
[A] Putting the word "Basic" on a sign caused "Censored, Censored, Censored, Censored" to appear on sign instead of entered text. --ArcaniX5696
[A] Writing "name's chest" on a sign , witch "name" can be anything, caused "?!" instead the entered text.
[A] The word "Capital" is censored on signs.
[A] The word "Land" is censored on signs.
[A] The word "Shaft" is censored on signs.
[A] The word "Sparky" is censored on signs.
[A] Note blocks have a very poor playing distance.
Crafting, Inventory, and Interfaces
Bugs
[F] Crafting a Cake does not return the buckets.
- Also having a problem with this! in my world, its a waste of iron ingot.
- This problem happens to me every time. I haven't once had this not happen. It's the same in both offline play and online play and even the same in multiple other worlds. (Confirmed)
[X] When retrieving two or more stored leather from a chest, one disappears.
- This didn't happen for me. Maybe it's a single-player bug?
[X] When interacting with a furnace, the interface freezes after closing out of the tutorial text.
[A!] When using the inventory, after the tutorial text pops up, I am unable to exit the inventory, and must go to the dashboard.
- Happened to me when i got the necessary items after opening the crafting menu (crafting a stone sword, I had one cobblestone so another player gave me some. All the necessary items were no longer highlighted red, but the output sword was.
- If you turn off/unplug your controller, then turn on/replug your controller it will solve this problem.
- It doesn't solve the problem. After the inventory bug happened once, the inventory stays frozen each time and is practically useless. Unplugging/Replugging the controller just closes the inventory.
[X] Sometimes the game it won't let me craft certain items, even if I have the materials.
- I've had the same issue several times. Sometimes it shows the ingredients with an exclaimation mark, sometimes no mark, but still won't craft it. In most cases I was able to close and reopen the crafting dialog, switch tabs and switch back, or move the item from the quickbar into inventory to get it working again.
- Ive seen this happen when split screen play is enabled, sometimes the server seems to mix up the players inventories.
[X] Bucket empties when the furnace is opened making it impossible to use lava as a furnace fuel.
[X] Placing buckets of lave inside a furnace results in loss of the bucket. Also, Buckets of lave do not smelt 100 blacks as they are supposed to. Once the product is removed from the furnace the bucket of lave disappears regardless of how many blocks you smelted.
[X] When sleeping if you open your inventory character appears sideways.
[X] The furnace doesn't always work for the owner of the world, you can put things into them, however it won't do anything. Happened to me a few minutes ago, and was happening to a friend every world he used a few days ago. - Alanna
[X] Not totally sure if this is a bug or not, but when trying to make torches, coal hardly EVER works. I know you can burn wood in the furnace and make charcoal and use that. However, it's very hard to do that if the above bug (furnace not working for world creator) is happening. - Alanna
- Is it possible that you aren't selecting the proper torch from the crafting menu? Torch (Charcoal) and Torch (Coal) are two separate entries in the crafting menu, under the same column.
[X] [MP] Whilst playing with a friend who is logged in as a guest, any items placed in a chest by that guest occasionally disappear on loading up single or multiplayer. Happened on two seperate occasions.
Mobs & Animals
Bugs
[X] Hostile Mobs will sometimes spawn inside enclosed *well* lit areas when sleeping in a bed. Torches surround my bed every two blocks on all sides, yet I woke up with a Skeleton Archer standing on the block immediately beside my bed. (I've only played MP so not sure if this is an issue in SP) --ArcaniX5696
- This is referred to as a "Nightmare", and means either a monster is too close to your bed, you don't have a complete house, or your bed is too near a wall. ~~ signed by Brickman2011 ~~ 00:57, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have the same problem,i put my bed inside a well lit area with my bed being inside the middle of my finished house.
- The problem can be solved couple of ways: 1st - you should make iron doors. 2nd - barricade your wooden doors with dirt (as silly as it sounds) -morlok63 (Russia 15.05.2012 23:22)
- The problem can also be solved by covering the beds on all sides(including the top) forming a 'coffin' which has worked for me in single and multiplayer.
- I have also found another way to fix this. By placing your bed any block distance away from the wall it is placed against, and away from other walls, has always worked for me.
[X] Passive Mobs sometimes can't be damaged when they are standing in Tall Grass.
[X] You can not ride a pig that has a saddle equipped.
[X] Passive mobs, when attacked in tall grass, get stuck and can still be attacked.
[X] I finally found a slime and could not cause any damage or get any reaction when hitting it with an iron sword. I managed to split the slime down to small cubes with a flint and steel by burning it. The small slimes can be attacked and killed, but large slime could not.
[X] Spiders will sometimes lose their ability to move when they are hit in tall grass.
[X] I have had several instances in which mobs could not be damaged. Have had instances of being unable to kill a squid underwater (attacking with sword), a skeleton (attacking with fists), and a zombie (also with fists). --70.169.103.206 05:23, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- I constantly have this problem. When I attack the top of the head and the feet the mob turns red but takes no damage. Mostly this happens with Zombies.
[X] Pigs and spiders when they have a single block above them and are hit, will not move but just flash red and cannot be killed.
[X] Chickens will sometimes open half of a wooden door, top or bottom, and enter your house. Really, this just happened to me.
[X] Hostile mobs that are unable to attack back while being attacked with a melee weapon will take no damage from hits. Example: A skeleton is behind a wall with only its feet exposed. You strike its feet. It turns red but is not knocked back and takes no damage.
- I've experienced this as well, in multiplayer. Hitting the mob over and over never kills it, but eventually wears out my sword.
[A] Hostile mobs can spawn in 2x1 empty spaces. Annoying if you accidentally left a small sliver of space between walls.
[X] Ghasts spawn in large numbers in the Nether, instead of rarely like in the PC version
[A] When in day time, even though spiders shouldnt attack. If given enough shadow, spiders will turn hostile. This happens in even very mild shadow, in a single space between 2 torches
[A] Creepers seem to detonate much too quickly - at least when compared to the current PC version. They cannot be hit with a melee weapon without triggering their detonation because you're too close to them, whereas this is quite possible in the PC version, including the one the current Xbox 360 version is based on. I backdated my PC version to Beta 1.6.6 to check, and searched some creepers, and I was definitely able to hit them a couple of times without moving; on my Xbox, I need to hit them quickly and then run away asap to make them cancel their explosion before I can strike again. --84.195.69.12 10:17, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Occasionally when killing a spider that is on a waterfall will cause it to stick in the place it was killed in and will not move. (Not sure if its the same with other mobs.)
Graphical, Lighting and Sound
Bugs
[A] Lighting is often not smoothed on water blocks, so each block has obviously different light levels.
[A] The minecart is flickering after getting pushed in the opposite side by a powered rails. Problem is solved by moving the camera.
[A] [MP] When playing in splitscreen MP, only the Player 1 is able to hear some kind of sounds. For example, if i go to far from another player wich is using note blocks, he can't hear them anymore, same thing for the rain.
[X] Minecart graphics appear to be extremely laggy; when they are unable to move up a hill because of lack of momentum, they don't slow down gradually, stop and reverse, but, rather, speed up the hill, stop abruptly and pause for a moment (sometimes they even disappear for a brief while when doing so), and then they shoot down the hill topspeed. --84.195.69.12 10:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
[X] Redstone Torches seem to have a graphical error; sometimes I can see random white and black lines vertically inside the block the torch is in, and they flicker when I move the camera. --84.195.69.12 10:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Annoyances
[A] There is quite heavy Mipmapping and low quality texture filtering, so blocks 10+ away from the player appear to have low resolution and tessellated textures. This can detract from the game experience.
[A] Sometimes, when trying to break down doors, the door rapidly opens and closes, creating a rather loud sound. I'm not sure how I sometimes manage to do it, though.
[A] I may be misremembering the old lighting system (considering how long it's been since Beta 1.6.6)but it seems like torches' light is not as it was. When placed on a wall, the light seems to be very bright in a two block radius around the torch, and past that point drops off considerably. It may have been a temporary issue with newly-placed torches, as it seems to have improved after reloading the world
- This seems to be common when playing as a client. When hosting I have not experienced any glitches with the lighting. --156.26.221.154 22:24, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I agree that as a client, lighting is severely bugged. You all can work around this by spamming the breaking and replacing of a torch until it becomes bright. This should take anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds, but still requires a patch fix. 70.160.166.80 22:37, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
[A] Wooden pressure plates sometimes rise up a block. Not sure what caused it, but I placed two side-by-side and one of them rose up by a block into the air. Standing on it made it revert to its normal position.
[A] It seems that objects when dropped in a large amount (like dying with a full inventory) aren't all appearing at the same time, but progressively after getting them, maybe a way to keep memory.
- Something like this happened to me once: when I died and went back there, all the dropped items were invisible, but I could still pick them up. In the area around the place where I died (i'm guessing that chunk), all items dropped became invisible, including the ones I dropped after going back. Mobs were also invisible, and I was killed once more by the same spider (and indeed, it was invisible).
[A] When in the Nether Ghasts don't make sounds very often or none at all (found on split screen).
[A] Thunder does not make any sound unless right beside where the Lightning bolt strikes.
GUI and Menus
Annoyances
[A] Inventory, crafting, smelting, chest, and other pop-ups are too small to see in vertical and horizontal split screen. (moved from Bugs)
- I definitely agree here. I have a massive TV, and I am forced to sit right in front of it to see what anything in my inventory/quickbar is.
- Playing on a 720p TV, still pretty small. I can't imagine what it's like for someone using the old 480i. --BaroqueWolf 04:54, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
[A] No confirmation when quitting without saving, but when you want to save, the game ask a permission.
[A] Disappearance of Main Items, Health and Armor after using the share option on pause screen to take a picture and share it on Facebook. (There is no clear indication on how to make these re-appear if this is not a bug)
Nether & Portals
Bugs
[!] Saving in the Nether, exiting the game without saving, and reloading the previous save game will cause the player to be stuck above the bedrock in the Nether. No blocks can be placed, and the player cannot jump off the edge of the map, so there is no way to get back. May be an online only glitch.
[!] When entering a Nether Portal there is a chance there will be multiple end points when you enter the Nether. For example, you have one Nether Portal in the normal world. When you enter it with other people you may spawn into different portals.
[!] When entering and saving in the nether, exiting without saving, reloading the saved game, the player will not be able to leave the nether or the game will crash. (This problem can be fixed with a friend, and give your stuff to the friend, and then die, respawn, have your friend come out of the nether, and get your items back. Has been tested and it works.)
[X] When deflecting a Ghast's fireballs with your fists, many times the ball would just stop; glitching back and forth.
Worlds and World Generation
Annoyances
[X] Worlds can't be renamed.
- You can change the name, but it would require to mod the save by using a usb. Look up a tutorial on changing save games.
[X] Worlds cant be shared between profiles, ie you cant change the owner.
- You can change the owner, but you will need to mod by using a usb. Look up tutorial on changing save games.
[A!] The world have a generation limit. you can't go futher then the invisible walls. and one minecraft's role is that there is no limit.
- This was done on purpose by Mojang, and so this is not a bug. This is expected to be extended in future updates.
