Broken userpages

Something went awry with our usermerge script. Our dev team is working on a solution. In the meantime, DO NOT edit your userpage (old or new) as this will create problems when they do try to fix it.

Broken articles

If you find an article that gives you the error ""The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found,..." simply click on Edit and then save the page. This should fix it.

Account Migration issues

Today I received an Email from noreply@curse.com saying my account failed to automatically migrate to Curse's central system due to a naming conflict, and my account was renamed. I was told that the next time I log in I would be asked to claim an existing account or choose a new name. However, I cannot remember my password, and the password reset system says my Email Address is not in the database. I also suspect that creating a new account will cause both another naming conflict and an Email Address conflict. At least it would be, if I could get past an error message when creating a new account that simply says " <asirra-edit> ." In fact, asirra-edit seems to be a common theme on account creation/login pages.

• Odd. I got an email from them saying my account was merged successfully, mainly because I manually merged it as soon as it was migrated to the new Gamepedia platform. --KamranMackey (talk) 19:07, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Edits

I have noticed that on the development versions page, new edits are not showing up, even by registered users, not sure if this is happening on other pages, but it moght. --75.18.40.239 12:38, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Command Block page not found, purging doesn't fix it

Database error when trying to find Command Block page. Tried ?action=purge, but it didn't work.

Never mind, the problem fixed itself...

Everything related to Fishing, including external search (Google), internal search, and various redirects, seems to be broken.

My userpage!

Ok, we are just getting finished bringing the rest of the language wikis online. We will start troubleshooting individual user problems tomorrow after we've had some sleep :D Don't do anything rash (like start recreating stuff) till we have a chance to look into it. Well, it looks like the userpage ended up at User:N96522umbermaN96522iac; something very strange happened, looking at the subpages: https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex?prefix=N96522umbermaN96522iac&namespace=2. This seems to be a very common issue, judging by the handful of users I've checked. Yeah, it's something in the user merge process gone awry. We will get it fixed tomorrow, so just give us a little patience... while we have been planning for this migration for over a month, we had no way to foresee that Century Link would have a major meltdown while we were in the middle of it which caused some cascading problems at our Data Center. -- Wynthyst talk 08:59, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

It appears you haven't completed the merge process (thus all the numbers after your name. And yes, if you just create new pages, it's a problem. We need to resolve your user merge. -- Wynthyst talk 11:13, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Potato

The page for Potato appears to be broken—maybe because of the migration? It's giving me this message: "The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named 'Potato.' This is usually caused by following an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted. If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this to an administrator, making note of the URL." (I would link to it but it won't let me since I'm an unregistered user.) --76.19.67.114 10:25, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Biomes

Biomes is broken, says it does not exist.

Fixed. For any pages that come up with a database error saying it doesn't exist, the page just needs to be purged. You can do this by adding ?action=purge to the end of the url. - Smokie

Missing pages?

eksampel Minecraft Wiki/wiki/Server commands page isnt there? and there is other pages too what happend? (user:ninjagocola)

It's @ Server . There is currently a redirect bug causing pages to come up as "Minecraft Wiki/wiki/pagename" just change the url to "pagename" - smokie

The domain redirects seem broken; http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Commands leads to http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Minecraft_Wiki/wiki/Commands , when it should point to http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands instead. -- Orthotope^talk 09:11, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

MediaWiki pages

It seems that the old MediaWiki pages in the german Wiki don´t exist any more. Do we have to create them new or can you fix that? .zip

In the sidebar the "Gemeinschaftsportal" was displayed as "Portal". But now it works. .zip

Usernames

Says that my old username, "Mavik", is no longer available, yet there is no user with that name. Bug?

Can't log in

This is funky3000 speaking here. I can't log into my account. I've tried my username 3 times and I know for a fact it's right. My problem is my password. I tried my password for this twice along with a variation of my password I sometimes use just in case it was the wrong one. If I need to email any information for my account to Ultradude, Wynthyst, or any other admin, I'd be more than happy to do so.

Just now tried using my email instead to see if that would work, got a strange error. "<asirra-edit>"

_zombiehunter speaking here: I have the same problem. Typed in correct username and password several times, but login always failed saying "Incorrect password entered. Please try again.". It worked fine a week ago, but now, meh :-( @Lennbot: Tried that too, didn't work.

I got the E-Mail "Email from the administrators of Minecraft Wiki." already 5 times, and it has everytime the same content! One mail at 08:39 (CET), 08:54, 09:16, 10:32 and 10 minutes ago! ---- xxluke 11:23, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

You would need to create a new Curse.com account using a different email address. Then we could unlink your wiki account from the current Curse account, and link it to the new one. -- Wynthyst talk 11:49, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Version History

The PC version history only goes to 1.5 not 1.0

Merging users

Glad to see wikies alive and running, but there is a total mess with users. Should I do something particular to merge my old account data (now renamed to Norrius<id>) with my Curse account on the wiki? Also userpages... They all are like User123 (User:User123) now. It is going to be fixed, right?

The best thing to try is to go to Special:CurseUserMerge. We had some hiccups during the merge process due to a cascading failure at our data center. Userboxes

Can you give me an example or two? For cases where a user has assumed a new username because of the merge, people using boxes from that user's space may have to update their links accordingly. Btarsa (talk) 15:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

It's because many users had the random number issue, where their entire userspace was moved to their name with a random number in it. Uness something can be dealt with server side, we may have to manually find the users who experienced this and move their spaces back. —Kanegasi ☺C 18:32, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Share button

The new "Share" button is not formatted like the rest of the buttons. its not bold and is lower then the other buttons, also the hole thing does not light up when you hover over it, only the arrow--007a83 ^{(Talk|Contribs)} 13:24, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Sidebar Missing

It may just be me, but I have no sidebar anymore. The news, updates, community creations boxes on the right for those that don't know. I had enough trouble getting the wiki to recognize my password but now that I am in, this seems to be my only problem. Slow loading

I don't really know if this is related to the migration, but since the Minecraft Wiki has migrated I sometimes get really long loadtimes on trying to read or edit a page. Does anyone else experience this? I'm from the Netherlands. --DdgMC (talk) 14:56, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

This should begin to resolve soon. Its most likely residual trouble from the failures at the data center yesterday. When everything is back at full-steam load times should be less than they were before the migration. Btarsa (talk) 15:32, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Icon in favorites bar

The logo for the wiki does not appear in the favorites bar anymore, it shows the "file" icon. It worked before the migration and still works for the old website. I am using Google Chrome. Also, the icon still appears on the tabs. I know this isn't a serious issue, but I think it should be looked at at some point. Lennbot (talk) 15:23, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Century Link Problem

If I try "Spezial:CurseUserMerge" (without Slash) I get this message: "Account Merge Error - The provided merge key was invalid or has expired. Please go back and log in again." Yes, its an issue that when we try to fix the problem, if there is other text on the destination page it can cause problems. Either we can work to fix it, or you can move/re-create the userpage, but not both. If you would prefer to have your user page migrated by us, please leave the "new" userpage blank. The user merge page will only work for folks who are not merged, if you have already merged sucessfully it will give you that error. CRSBenjamin - (talk) 16:51, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Avatar not showing up

Is it normal that my curse avatar isnt showing up in the curse bar on the top? If not, could it be because my curse name is "eagle3000" and my wiki name "Eagle3000"? --eagle3000 ^{(D ~ B)}

User Page

Hello,

I'm an admin on the Dutch mcwiki, and am also active on the english wiki. My Userpage is gone, it has been moved to User:T26077heWombaT26077Guru, this also happened on the dutch mcwiki nl:User:T26077heWombaT26077Guru. Can I move it back to my real name, or are you guys going to fix this, because a lot of people have this problem (Also on the other language wikis like the dutch).

Also, the page: Talk:Version history/Development versions is corrupted.

I will have to investigate. It's odd that your userpage ended up in another place when your contributions merged properly. It is probably due to the crashes we encountered during the merge process. In the meantime, please do not edit your userpage (old or new/non-existent). Another problem with the user account

It seems that my account doesn`t exist. My old name was ".zip". Now I´m logged in with my Curse login credentials. My Curse name is "_zip". But in the wiki I´m displayed as "zip" (username and display name). My edits aren´t saved and when I use the Curse bar at the top of the pages to open my userpage it says: "Das Benutzerkonto „Zip“ ist nicht vorhanden." in the german Wiki and "User account "Zip" is not registered." in the english wiki. None of the four variants leads to my userpage. And a version of my name with numbers in it doesn´t seem to exist. --.zip ^{de.MinecraftWiki-Admin Diskussion} 17:35, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Zip, unfortunately names with leading underscores do not work our system (I think MediaWiki restriction) I've given you a global curse rename credit. Please try logging in with that and wee what happens regarding your prior contributions. - Smokie (talk) 18:30, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Custom CSS not showing up
