The admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.
Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:
- This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post any discussions on the community portal talk page.
- Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
- Do not post deletion requests here; instead, the page should be tagged for deletion.
- Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
- Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
- For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.
- For issues with filters preventing edits from being saved: filters are not able to be disabled for specific people. However, an admin may be able to perform the edit themselves for you. "New user" filters expire after you log in and make some edits around the wiki.
In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for speedy deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene.
If a user must be reported here, do not create a new section. Instead, add * {{vandal|Example user}} Your concise reason (e.g. vandalised past 4th warning). ~~~~ in the Block requests section.
If a protection or unprotection request must be requested here, do not create a new section. Instead, add * {{la|Example page}} '''duration (temporary or indefinite) and protection level''': Your concise reason (e.g. constant spam and vandalism). <nowiki>~~~~ in the Protection requests section.
Please post new topics at the bottom of the page by clicking the "add topic" button above.

Interwiki table request
Since Gamepedia PRO was introduced, Wikis are now able to use HTTPS instead of HTTP. But there's one issue: When clicking on an interwiki, it gives you the plain old HTTP-connection instead of the user-related HTTPS. My question: Can someone please remove in the interwiki table the http:-prefix for the other Minecraft Wiki-Wikis? (I've done it already for the Dutch Wiki) --DarkShadowTNT NL Admin (t ♦ c) 14:28, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Related suggestion: Wikipedia also uses HTTPS, so the corresponding interwiki can be changed accordingly. — NickTheRed37 (issues’ wall) 14:57, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Yep, there still are some resources (especially in CSS files) which are loaded using http links. For example, File:Background.png is loaded using an http link in MediaWiki:Common.css. | violine1101(Talk) 17:46, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- There are some unsafe connections left which can only be changed by Curse. Apart from these, the German Minecraft wiki is mostly HTTPS now by changing
httptohttpsin both MediaWiki:Common.css as well as MediaWiki:Hydra.css and Widget:FileUrl. | violine1101(Talk) 18:13, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ummm... @Violine1101: Not all the user are a PRO. Only users who are a PRO user can use an HTTPS connection. Users who aren't PRO still use HTTP. The best option is to let the browser decide by using, as example,
//hydra-media.cursecdn.com/minecraft-de.gamepedia.com/9/90/Minecraft_Wiki_header.svginstead ofhttp://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/minecraft-de.gamepedia.com/9/90/Minecraft_Wiki_header.svgand/orhttps://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/minecraft-de.gamepedia.com/9/90/Minecraft_Wiki_header.svg. --DarkShadowTNT NL Admin (t ♦ c) 19:00, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

I just realized I put that into the false topic, but hey, it's about PRO too. | violine1101(Talk) 20:28, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

- Done; language interwikis now use protocol-relative URLs. Looking at the interwiki table, I'm wondering if a lot of them could be removed, as they don't seem to have any relevance or use here. -- Orthotopetalk 19:32, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

Template:ID table outputs wrong names
It seems {{ID table}} just does a simple transformation on the item names, so it gives minecraft:wood_planks for "Wood Planks" and minecraft:magma_block for "Magma Block", for example, but those are not the correct names, they are minecraft:planks and minecraft:magma, respectively. The template needs to be changed to show the proper names instead of making such an assumption on the format of the names. nyuszika7h (talk) 16:05, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

Don't need to say anything; just look at the username.. Block that user for indef --MarioProtIV (talk) 18:57, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- As it was previously said, by putting a request to block a user with unacceptable (e. g. offensive) username here, it is made more visible, which is not good. There is another user with a similar unacceptable name (with a repeated vowel), but I don’t want to fully tell it because of that reason (administrators can just look up the user registration log anyway). An IRC-or-otherwise channel for non-public administrative issues would be great for this, but either way anyone can contact an administrator by e-mail.
- That particular user is already blocked by Orthotope. Why do administrators not reply to topics about issues which were resolved? This makes it look at first glance like these issues aren’t still solved. — NickTheRed37 (issues’ wall) 13:07, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Czech wiki
I think it's time a proper Czech language wiki is set up, at minecraft-cs.gamepedia.com (maybe with minecraft-cz.gamepedia.com as a redirect- the correct code is actually cs, but many people use cz because that's the code [ISO 3166 and Internet TLD] used to refer to the Czech Republic). There's a very sufficient amount of pages- 427 of them, and that will only grow with time and newfound visibility. One user, Rechris (talk • contribs • logs), has been active translating pages for about a month, and has been around doing translation for much longer, so I think they would make a fine administrator for the project. There's one major issue, though- the main page isn't translated. I'd like to request Rechris to translate it, if he/she/they doesn't mind :) -Xbony2 (talk) 21:38, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

- On the new wiki, you'll want to want to have Czech titles. And you'll want to move the currently existing articles, like Compass/cz -> Kompas. I (and maybe others) will probably try to help you with this. Eventually, when all of the links are correct, you'll want to start deleting the redirects (like Compass/cz). -Xbony2 (talk) 19:37, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Remove redirects and translated pages from the search bar
Honestly, I find this looks way too confusing. We have pages for foreign language translations, and redirects for simple capitalization differences, crowding out actual pages.
Is there a way to hide these? It seems like it might be a bit confusing for newcomers. - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 11:46, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- Don't believe so. However, we could probably get rid of all those old redirects. We haven't used those titles for years, so there's probably not many external links to them still. –Majr ᐸ Talk

Wiki advertisements causing page load issues
Hello Admins. There's a pretty glaring issue with browsing this wiki for me, whether I'm logged in or not. In the background, things are being loaded practically all the time. After a while of having a page loaded, it becomes almost impossible to navigate the page because of framerate issues, caused by these things loading in the background. Things never cease to be loaded it seems, even after 5 minutes of being on the page. I'm running Chrome on Windows 10 on a gaming PC with respectable specs from 2013, and my internet is a fairly standard 1.5 MB/sec connection. I've tested this with AdBlock on, and it seems to be fine, however I don't like using it.
Here are some screenshots of Chrome's Network tab from the Inspector.
- On Community Portal: https://i.gyazo.com/414e1239462f4b44ad9c46a90fd677d9.png
- On Biomes: https://i.gyazo.com/162d9c3a8bfdeca89f7008bc6e563991.png
This is probably beyond your abilities, in which case please escalate it to Curse or whoever because it's quite annoying and makes browsing almost impossible. If this is just an issue on my end, sorry! Any advice would be helpful.
Cheers

Judging by the data on your user profile, you were already 13 when joining Minecraft Wiki; did you join any other Curse project beforehand? — NickTheRed37 (issues’ wall) 12:50, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
- I was 13 when I registered the account - that much is true and if you guys can't delete the old profile that's fine - but the bigger problem right now lies within my user rights because as of now I can't even edit my own userpage due to certain filters. Unable to create new pages in the Mods/Runecraft namespace
I'm trying to add information about the new runes in 3.0.x, but it tells me that "as a new user, [my] action has been disallowed" when I try to create a new page, and tells me to "please post a message on the admin noticeboard". So I'm doing that!
FroxicTog (talk) 12:56, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- There's no way to turn off the filters for individual users, but once you make a few more edits to existing pages, you'll no longer be considered a 'new user', so this restriction will be removed automatically. -- Orthotopetalk 17:17, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Supposed sockpuppet of CreeperFan2015, seeing that the user replied to a comment on Orthotope's talk page regarding CreeperFan, and also creating a user profile for CreeperFan. -BDJP (t|c) 20:52, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

- Different IP, but exact same user agent, probably a sockpuppet. Can't edit profile
Hi, sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, I'm a new user, but how come I cannot edit my own profile page? Cherryblossom000 (talk) 02:55, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Randomly getting logged-out
I and MinecraftPhotos4U have been noticing in the past half-hour or hour or so, we've been getting logged out repeatedly. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 22:17, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
And my signature in the preview-box appears to be an IP, pretty often – Sealbudsman talk/contr 22:18, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- In my case I automatically get logged back in again. The first time I didn't and it asked me to merge my Curse account or something like that, so maybe my details are in the hands of someone less deserving now. Kind of worrying. - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 22:41, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- It just happened again (my watchlist is in an auto-refresh tab, and it presented me with a logged-out login screen, instead of that). And just like what MinecraftPhotos4U said, on the next refresh, I was logged in again. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 15:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Doesn't seem to be happening anymore. - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 08:34, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, so I know this is pretty unrelated, but I've been getting a similar effect over at Wikia. So either this is something to do with MediaWiki itself or something much more sinister. - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 19:43, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
- It was caused by some auth issues with some nodes during the PHP7 migration, it wasn't a client-side issue. –Majr ᐸ Talk

Can't create page
Hello, I tried to create a page about light gray dye/light gray wool, but after I spent an entire hour making sure I had correct information, a message popped up when I tried to post it that said, and I quote, " An automated filter has detected that you are attempting to create a possibly unwanted page." I believe this is not correct, because on the page about wool, it doesn't show anything about dye or go into detail about any certain wool color. Please change this, because I believe my edit to be constructive and laborious. Yes, I know that filters cannot be changed for specific people, but can an admin please create this page, if it is not to much to ask for. Tartigrade (talk) 18:41, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- There are already articles on dye and wool. The article you were trying to create would not be allowed by our style guide, as everything that was in it is already covered in existing, more complete articles. -- Orthotopetalk 20:01, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
Perhaps another range block is needed.

These IPs appear to have been vandalising, edit-warring, and making tons of unexplained or unneeded edits for the past three months (maybe longer, not sure).
As for evading blocks: multiple IPs has have been used for block-evading, but they appear to only do around one edit for every block that has been given on the others. -BDJP (t|c) 20:12, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, those aren't the actual IP addresses. They seem to all be cloudflare addresses, so I'm assuming it's because Gamepedia uses cloudflare that those IPs come up. Even you have used a few of the IPs from the 172.68.0.0/16 range, blocking that range would in-turn block you. –Majr ᐸ Talk

Protecting the Undead page from IP edits
Due to constant vandalizing (see Minecraft_Wiki:Admin_noticeboard#Perhaps_another_range_block_is_needed.) on the Undead page, I'm requesting protection against IP edits. Skylinerw (talk) 13:16, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Can't edit page; says I'm trying to add a link when I'm not.
I'm trying to edit the Seed (level generation) page so that instead of saying 2^64 possible seeds, it says 2^48 in the technical section and removing the sentence about possible seeds in multiplayer. Whenever I try to do this, it says I can't because I'm inserting a link when I'm not. Can you make the edit for me? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by KittyCrafter156 (talk • contribs) at 1:57, 10 October 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- As far as I can tell, the page is correct. If you enter the world seed yourself, any 64-bit value can be used. -- Orthotopetalk 06:35, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
Broken File Upload
It seems like the file upload has been broken for a couple of days already (throughout multiple browsers). The following error appears whenever a picture (in this case a png) is uploaded (it does not seem like entering different values changes the outcome).

As far as I can tell from the MediaWiki code (as far as that still applies to this specific fork) this is related to some kind of upload error occurring somewhere along the line. So I'm not entirely sure as to whether the issue could be caused by the file itself (A copy of the image can be found on imgur).

Wyatt2050 (talk • contribs • logs • block log)
Back in June, Wyatt2050 was warned on his talk page by Goandgoo (talk • contribs • logs • block log) to not add speculation/false information because of what he was doing to the 0.15.0 page, and said if he did it again there would be consequences including a temporary block, and was blocked for it, as well as abusing multiple accounts.
Today, he removed the warning and discussion about it. After doing that he proceeded to add speculation/false information to the page Pocket Edition Alpha 0.17.0 and attempted to revert war before giving up. Obviously some form of action needs to be taken here, as he as removed a warning and gone against what he was warned not to do. EDIT: I got something a bit wrong, so I edited it, my bad. It should be fine now. Bbob1937 (talk) 22:32, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Moved a bunch of Map-related pages into Minecraft Wiki space.
I undid them, but I botched the move of the talk page archive; it's at Talk:Map/Archive 01 and should go back to where it was, at Talk:Map/Archive 1 – Sealbudsman talk/contr 15:05, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Jan - April Archive
Could someone complete the archive of the page I was attempting to do: to list Minecraft_Wiki:Admin_noticeboard/Archive_25 as a page in Minecraft_Wiki:Admin_noticeboard/header, and then to protect that Archive 25 page? Thanks, – Sealbudsman talk/contr 21:54, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Re-protecting Undead page from IP edits
Page protection on Undead page expired and was almost immediately met with the same repetitive vandalism from the same person. Unfortunately they've been doing this to a bunch of other pages, though Undead in particular is a primary focus and will likely need to be re-protected. Original request.
