== MCW:Patroller requests ==

Why does it even exist anymore? No one uses it and it is quite tedious to make a request. Also, patrollers can decide for themselves. To me, the page should either be linked to the sidebar, be deleted, or be converted to {{fake red link|MCW:Requests for patroller}} or {{fake red link|MCW:Requests for user rights}} as there is not really a way for a user to request themselves to have a user right, only for someone else to request it like {{ping|Amatulic}} requesting active users for autopatrol right or an admin occasionally giving users rights. Since FandomDesktop has arrived, the <code>.mw-body</code> is no longer there, causing this gadget to fail. To fix it we simply needs to change it to like this:

<syntaxhighlight lang="javascript" start="16" highlight="2" line>

var $win = $( window );

var $body = $( '#content' );

var $content = $( '#mw-content-text' );

== Fandom app needs better setup ==

Hi, I don't edit here but I noticed this issue when browsing the Fandom app and thought I'd mention it. The 'home page' for this wiki on there is really messy, seemingly having just used a large portion of the category tree. As readers on the app cannot edit, sections on there such as [[:Category:Users]] and [[:Category:Templates]] are very redundant and pages in them don't seem to be accessible anyway. Sections such as [[:Category:Blocks]] probably should be there, but under a better name. As an increasing number of readers are going to be using this app, I thought I'd bring it up as it's only going to be confusing for new readers. [[User:Bongolium500|Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500)]] ([[User talk:Bongolium500|talk]]) 08:52, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

:Categories are still useful to editors, [[:Category:Users]] does not list all users, it is more of a category to encompass user categories (like inactive editors, editable user pages, etc). Same with [[:Category:Templates]]. Template names are supposed to be simple so [[:Category:Blocks]] is fine. Also, we can't help you with the fandom app issue, please contact fandom through Fandom support (click Support on the bottom and then click contact us on the bottom of that page) '''[[User:Humiebee|Humiebee]][[User talk:Humiebee|talk]] [[Special:Contribs/Humiebee|contribs]]''' 12:51, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

::I'm not saying that the categories should be removed; of course [[:Category:Templates]] is very useful to editors. I'm just saying the view of the wiki through the Fandom app should be simple enough for the average reader who may not even fully understand what a category is in the sense of a wiki, let alone how to use a template. The reason I asked here is because this part of the app is specific to the wiki and needs changing by an admin. This category keeps expanding with no pages being removed (due to lack of discussion). Is there a way to clean up this category, possibly make sub-topics of this section as discussion about whether the page should be split? == Remove overwriting a page from non-autopatrol users ==

Similar to {{cd|suppressredirect}}, it is basically like deleting a page and several recent moves (such as one from [[Coral reef]] to [[Coral Reef]]) have been allowed due to this right. Can an admin please remove it? Also, please keep it for autopatrol and patrollers to be consistant with {{cd|suppressredirect}} and to be able to revert such moves. # The ability to overwrite a page when moving is also granted by the <code>suppressredirect</code> permission. Without the <code>delete</code> permission, it only allows overwriting a page if, when moving A to B, B has only one revision, which is a redirect to A. This permission cannot be used in any other circumstances, and so does not present a security issue.

# <code>suppressredirect</code> is intentionally granted to all autoconfirmed (not just autopatrol) users because without this permission fixing move vandalism is even harder. If a vandal moves <code>Pagename</code> to <code>Bad Pagename</code>, it would be impossible to revert such a move without <code>suppressredirect</code> or admin permissions.

# Admins cannot adjust group permissions. That has to be done by either the associated wiki representative (not sure about that) or Fandom staff. --[[User:AttemptToCallNil|AttemptToCallNil]] ([[User talk:AttemptToCallNil|talk]]) 04:32, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

If you believe you have been wrongfully blocked, you may discuss the block on your talk page, which you usually will still be able to edit.
Minecraft Wiki Admin noticeboard
Shortcuts

The admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post any discussions on the community portal talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here; instead, the page should be tagged for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.
  • For issues with filters preventing edits from being saved: filters are not able to be disabled for specific people. However, an admin may be able to perform the edit themselves for you. "New user" filters expire after you log in and make some edits around the wiki.

Table of slscool

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for speedy deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene.

If a user must be reported here, do not create a new section. Instead, add * {{vandal|Example user}} Your concise reason (e.g. vandalised past 4th warning). ~~~~ in the Block requests section.

If a protection or unprotection request must be requested here, do not create a new section. Instead, add * {{la|Example page}} '''duration (temporary or indefinite) and protection level''': Your concise reason (e.g. constant spam and vandalism). <nowiki>~~~~ in the Protection requests section.

Please post new topics at the bottom of the page by clicking the "add topic" button above.

Why do I get blocked?

Last night I was editing the parity issue list, I was adding some important things, it took me about an hour. When I was done and hit save, it didn't let me. Some network error popped up. Now I tried it again, this time I only edited one single line and hit save, it didn't work again, and I received the following warning:

Your action has been disallowed by an automated edit filter. A brief description of the matched rule(s) for your action is: [SOAP] Spam prevention

I wasn't "spamming", I was just trying to add important things that were missing from that page. I would like to know why this happens and how I can continue editing without getting this warning. Hobbylos1 (talk) 12:13, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Short answer: you attempted to add a link to the forked wiki, which is against the Forking Policy.
Full answer: I assume "this time I only edited one single line" is referring to the line starting with "Player's hand and held." However, in your attempted edits, you also touched the line three lines down (the one starting with "Players have an animation"). I'm guessing you copied that line, or maybe the entire General or Animations section, and pasted it on this wiki. However, for whatever reason, this changed the link in that line: it replaced the link in the reference tag (the Minecraft Feedback link) with a link to the reference tag (what happens when you click the little [feedback 1] in the article). Those URLs, by default, take the URL of the current article and append "cite_note-x" to it. Since you were copying text from the forked wiki, that URL was a link to the forked wiki. The AbuseFilter does not allow links to the forked wiki. SLScool 00:04, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Error on Wild Update page.

On the Wild update page It shows the Warden and the Deep Dark biome, however they are being added in the 1.18 C&CII Update not the 1.19 Wild Update. I cannot fix this as an error shows up so I am asking someone else to do it. – Unsigned comment added by Infrasound7 (talkcontribs) at 18:57 UTC October 16 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

First, please sign your comment using 4 tildas (~~~~) and the Warden is going to be added to the 1.19 Wild Update. Humiebeetalk contribs 20:07, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

I found series of vandalism edit war on Java Edition version history/Development versions, so i think you will protect that page for a month? 49.228.176.139 05:09, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Consider that Java Edition 1.18 Pre-release 1 is not released yet until certain number of weeks. 49.228.176.139 05:14, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Vandalism on Concrete Page

Someone vandalised the concrete page and replaced all the 'Concrete' with 'Dinnerbone', as well as turning Java into Fava, and Bedrock into Badrock, etc. Can someone pleace fix that? -Infrasound7

Please create a page called "Criticism of Minecraft"

Thanks! 99.19.68.61 00:46, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Why? That's what Wikipedia is for. See wikipedia:Minecraft#Reception. Wikipedia would give the topic more encyclopedic treatment. It's sort of outside the scope of the Minecraft wiki. Amatulic (talk) 05:02, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Please change a page model

Please change Module:Sandbox/GameTag/Data.json to json for storing module data.

Can't type Minecraft preset (admin keeps blocking it)

I made new Minecraft preset. I tried to make a new page with the preset, but the admin keeps blocking it, as it says, it has unwanted words. But it was only Minecraft preset. I can't do anything! – Unsigned comment added by Tankazer (talkcontribs) at 13:27, 7 December 2021 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

I'm not an admin and have no idea what would've triggered that abuse filter, but the page you're describing is not something that would meet this wiki's notability guidelines, which disallow pages regrading fan-made content. If that's still something you want to get posted to the wiki, it would have to be a subpage of your user pageJEC talk @ 15:41, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
I also changed the filter a bit. I suspect it was causing an issue because of the "lapisSize" property. --AttemptToCallNil (talk) 10:29, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
