Re-protecting Undead page from IP edits

Page protection on Undead page expired and was almost immediately met with the same repetitive vandalism from the same person. Unfortunately they've been doing this to a bunch of other pages, though Undead in particular is a primary focus and will likely need to be re-protected. Original request. @Minecraft Redstoning: The abuse filter tends to be harsh on new users (to protect against spam accounts); once your account is 3 days old and you've made 10 edits it will ease up. In the meantime you could make small edits (that don't include links and the like). -User:Sonicwave32 (User talk:Sonicwave32|Special:Contributions/Sonicwave32) 03:40, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Please stop using all caps and making demands. It's rude. Harassing people is explicitly against the rules, as well, and repeatedly doing it is **definitely** a good reason for a block.
The word is "unnecessary".
No-one on the wiki can "change your IP". Your IP address is an indication of where your computer or phone is on the internet at any given time; it's assigned by internet service providers. If you want to use the IP address 173.215.216.190 (there is no reason anyone should care about this, by the way), you have to go back to that same computer or device, at that same location, and hope that the numbers weren't re-assigned in the meantime. There is no guarantee. See also wikipedia:IP_addressSealbudsman talk/contr 21:24, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Hardness information in infobox is gone

As the title says, the hardness information in the infobox for blocks is gone. It was usually always there, but since, as far as I know, it is gone since at least today, right at the moment when I needed it to create a mod... :P What happened to it? —:nl:Gebruiker:DarkShadowTNT NL Admin (:nl:Overleg gebruiker:DarkShadowTNT:nl:Speciaal:Bijdragen/DarkShadowTNT) 21:11, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

It looks like it was removed back in July after some discussion on the talk page. Not entirely sure I agree with removal of the field, but that's why it was removed. It looks like Hardness redirects to a table with the same values (though, I'm not sure how up-to-date it is).
Though if you're writing a mod, the information is available on blocks themselves (Block.getBlockHardness() exists, though it's deprecated; there's some IBlockProperties method that you can use to get it as well (which should work with a block state)). This isn't the best place to talk about that though. --Pokechu22 (talk) 21:29, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
It was removed because it's already on the page. Look at the table to the left of the infobox on any block page. MajrTalk

Edit not allowed on Painting

I was trying to edit the Painting article since I spotted a statement intended to be fact that was inaccurate. Here is the original:

A painting of the main character of the classic Atari game International Karate (the Karateka character had white hair, this one clearly has black hair) fighting a large hand. It could also be interpreted as the two hands touching as seen in Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel painting. This is also in Super Smash Bros (SSB for short) A fighter fighting the Master Hand.

The concern here is "This is also in Super Smash Bros (SSB for short) A fighter fighting the Master Hand" which is a similarity, but has no evidence supporting it. I tried to Remove it, but was not allowed to. Here is the message I recieved when I tried to save the page:

Your action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed. A brief description of the matched abuse rule for your action is: Global AF - New user adding link at end or in heading If you believe your edit was constructive, please post a message on the admin noticeboard or notify an admin directly

If you believe that my change was not constructive I would be happy to accept that, but I believe the automated system is mistaken.

As I was here I also changed a small part about the Skull on Fire painting, but I removed this and tried again so I don't think it matters. If the summary is able to change the result, here is the summary I wrote:

Removed statement that the Pointer painting is related to Super Smash Bros. Added information about the Skull in painting Skull on Fire being set in Minecraft

This is my first time editing a page, so maybe I made a mistake. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Camersauce (talkcontribs) at 23:57, 30 November 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Trying to add Console Edition info

I was trying to add some new information to the End City page, due to the upcoming Console Edition update. More specifically, I was trying to update the History section of the page, and found that I could not add a section labelled "Upcoming Console Edition" using the wikitext. I was reproducing the format used by the Upcoming Pocket Edition section, but it seems to not function with Upcoming Console Edition.

Where it says "console upcoming", it shows red text, as if it's the wrong format. The words "Added end cities" appears where the version should be, and nothing appears where the text "Added end cities" should be.

{{History|console upcoming - should say "Upcoming Console Edition}} {{History||xbox=TU46|xbone=CU35|wiiu=Patch 13|ps=1.38|Added end cities. - Should say version information.}} –Preceding unsigned comment was added by MrChill519 (talkcontribs) at 18:11, December 2, 2016 (UTC). @MrChill519: The Console Edition update is a little ways off, and therefore there is currently not enough details to support a change to End Cities or the Console Edition history page. Can you report bugs when anonymous? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.228.205.51 (talk) at 21:55, 07 December 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
No. You have to create an account. Maethoredhel (tc) 22:00, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Note that when creating an account, it asks for a "Full Name", but this does not actually need to be your real name. The only purpose of that field is to set a display name instead of a login name. It is completely acceptable to do this, so if that's your reason for not creating an account, you don't need to worry about it. --Pokechu22 (talk) 22:02, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Also note that if you accidentally input your real name without having seen what Pokechu22 said, it is always changeable from your Account Settings. Therefore, having said all of this, create an account there and report the bug(s) you found. (If you found any - unclear in your original statement). Maethoredhel (tc) 22:08, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Seriously? This is insane. I apologize for not browsing user pages in the intent of finding non-copyrighted material in order to complain on the admin noticeboard that I dislike this or that user and want him blocked... why, I don't know. Wait a minute, aren't you a random IP? What kind of user rights or privileges do you have to ask the admins to block me? Nevertheless, on what basis are you asking for a block? A silly piece of userbox content that you complain you cannot have; simply because you're too reluctant to make an account and quit badgering everyone! Perhaps, though, it's a portion of user page content that you believe violates a rule that is non-existent. I am amazed, and I do apologize to AndrewAB for not noticing that out of 274+ other people, his user page happened to look all-too-much-the-same compared to mine. Maethoredhel (tc) 01:01, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Going further, I suspect that your comments, including the section below, may be enough to warrant me to ping Majr. I'm rather speechless as to how you went from asking me about userboxes, to going to the noticeboard in the mindset of having me blocked. Maethoredhel (tc) 01:06, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Other than containing userboxes, I see no substantial similarity between their user pages. Reporting users here without cause is a form of harassment, prohibited by rule #3, and will lead to a block if it continues. -- Orthotopetalk 01:23, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
@Orthotope:  Resolved. Thank you for intervening. Maethoredhel (tc15px) 03:48, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Having userboxes isn't an issue; many people have them on their user pages. Even if there was substantial similarity, the CC license on the wiki allows reuse and modification of anyone's contributions. -- Orthotopetalk 06:15, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I can't edit my user profile for some reason. I am allowed to edit other pages, but when I edit my user profile my profile still says my username profile is blank and click to edit. Try it on desktop for one thing, although I don't think it will change anything. It might because you have a small amount of edits. There's certainly no rules outlawing IPs having talk pages; there's hundreds of IP talk pages on this wiki alone (mostly just warnings and rubbish, but still). Anonymous accounts having user pages is however unconventional; ultimately if you really want to establish yourself here you should make an account, although I don't see it as a major crime myself if you can't. -Xbony2 (talk) 20:46, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
