Can´t edit the Directors page

Hello, I´m an administrator of the german Wiki but can´t edit the Directors page. Can you change my rights, please? Because I have a question which I want to put there. Thank you --.zip de.MinecraftWiki-Admin Diskussion 18:28, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Becoming an admin on one wiki does not automatically make you admins on other language wikis. You could post it on the talk page of this. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 22:07, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
>"The Minecraft Wiki Directors is made up of administrators from all of the language sites."
All admins from all language sites should have director rights on this wiki.
While I am here... consider this a request to give me director rights as well (I am an administrator on the Russian wiki). --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 22:16, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Is there even such a right as director? Hmm, probably is. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 05:14, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Special:ListGroupRights -- Orthotope talk 05:24, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
That answers all the questions I had about that. Cool. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 05:36, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
So can someone change the rights, please? --.zip de.MinecraftWiki-Admin Diskussion 22:37, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
Only bureaucrats and Curse can change user rights. The two bureaucrats of this wiki have not edited for a while, and the only active Curse person I know hasn't edited since the 12th.User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 00:45, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Inappropriate Ad?

I am seeing an Ad pop up at the bottom of the page for "Wartune", which prominently says "MALE GAMERS ONLY" and leads to an adult-oriented site. I tried to link, but it wouldn't let me due to being a new use. wartune dot gamerankers dot com

Looking at the Wiki Rules, I feel it violates the spirit, if not any specific letter, of those rules. You may wish to speak to the company that handles the ads and ask that such not be displayed here. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs) 01:39, 20 July 2013 (UTC). You can send an email to contact@curse.com User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 01:49, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
I agree about that ad being inappropriate. All I've seen from that game's adds are images designed to attract male players (terminology is limited). If you search up "wartune advertisement" on bing images, you can see what I mean. And, this: www dot gamesindustry dot biz/articles/2013-05-10-wartune-advertising-runs-afoul-of-esrb.
Generally, this game is inappropriate. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Pokechu22 (talkcontribs) 04:24, 20 July 2013 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Link refactored due to the possibility of the original user being unable to edit this section. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 07:42, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Note: The Game itself is not inappropriate, it is an average browser based strategy game, with no adult content. The ads are extremely misleading, the same thing happened with a game called Evony quite a few years back.

Invalid/illegal advertisement.

I have copied this out of the archive since it is still somewhat active.
(Weirdly, that wartune one hasn't had a post for over a week and it is still considered active) Pokechu22 05:07, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Please remove this advertisement as it is endorcing piracy/turns you into a spambot/is a scam.

I don't know exactly how gallerys work, so that may be extremely small. Apearently, according to the terms, it installs some kind of "wonderbar" thingy (not the actual term), so it must be evil. Pokechu22 19:45, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Admins can't do anything about ads: maybe contact Curse. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 21:34, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
How? I assume it goes on the curse forums, but would it go under bug reports or where?Pokechu22 21:51, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Probably send them an email at contact@curse.com. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 21:57, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Done, now I'm waiting for a response. Pokechu22 22:05, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Might be worth contacting Mojang about the site as well, since it appears to violate their Terms of Use. -- Orthotope talk 02:57, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
I saw this ad too; it's very misleading. --Sheepuff20 (T|C) 06:44, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
I sent too. Now which do you think will come first, the curse one of the Mojang one? Pokechu22 04:15, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
It all depends on how often each checks their email and how many emails are sent to them daily. If Curse doesn't reply soon, maybe you could email Wynthyst as she works at curse. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 04:33, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
I also tried reporting the ad to google, but the reporting thingy kept saying "INVALID EMAIL". Pokechu22 18:22, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
That's probably a bug on google's side. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 02:11, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
If you reported the ad to contact@curse.com it should be dealt with. If you ever see inappropriate ads, or ads that trigger any sort of anti-spyware, etc. Please note the page you are on, the time, and get a screenshot of the ad and send that information immediately to either contact@curse.com or wiki@curse.com and it will be investigated immediately. We only provide space for advertising that is provided by a 3rd party, we don't actually control the ads ourselves, so while we have fairly stringent criteria, on occasion bad ads do slip through. Thank you for your diligence and concern! -- Wynthyst Image:User Wynthyst sig icon.png :en:User talk:Wynthyst 10:59, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
I did report it to there, should I have gotten a reply? Its been over a week, no reply. I also tricked the google bug by saying my email was "someone@example.com", and linking my actual email in the message body. You'd think it would accept gmail, but meh. Also, please note this: (Its a post on this page). Pokechu22 23:53, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
PS: do those "3 easy steps to convert pdf" things that install adware also count? They do stuff that already is available and are basicly scams. Pokechu22
If it installs adware then yes. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 00:14, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Where can I see the full advertising policy? Pokechu22 00:01, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
Minecraft Wiki:Privacy policy has some decent info. User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac c 08:03, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I still haven't gotten a response from either of them, but I haven't seen the ad either, so I'd say we have succeeded. Pokechu22 22:29, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Yea, I'm doing it. (This time, I found one that was non-flash, so I can report it directly, instead of describing it.) Aditionaly, they seem to have fixed the email address bug, so I [hopefully] will get a response. I linked to all of googles policies it violated in any way, so that they don't have to do much. Can I be an administrator on the vietnamese wiki? After all, I am vietnamese, and am able to translate and write it with minimal difficulty. --1234567890Number 21:01, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Broken external link filter

I was attempting to post to the Music Disc talk page, but it says my post contains external links. That is incorrect as there is no external link. Below is the Subject and text of my post:

Subject/headline: strad derived from Tomb Raider theme music

Body: Please add to the Trivia section that STRAD is very similar to the theme music from the original Tomb Raider; heavily influenced is more like it. It is unmistakable when comparing the two. Also, I'd posit that the name is a contraction of Soundtrack Tomb Raider.

~ ~ ~ ~ (all together on the post)

Please fix this as I believe my post to be relevant and salient.

Thanks so much! :)

Cheers, Sixit 05:19, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

The abuse filter stupidly includes the line above where you're editing, which in this case includes a link, so it thinks you're adding it. I don't think there's anyway to fix that. ultradude25Talk

Bad Word

In the Herobrine page in one of the quotes, there is an un-blanked swear word. Major Issue. Mokiki 23:52, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm assuming you mean the Kappische quote. You can change it on Herobrine/editcopy and an admin can put it on the main Herobrine page. -- User talk:Numbermaniac User:Numbermaniac Special:Contribs/Numbermaniac 00:14, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
In general, we don't censor direct quotes from Mojangstas. It's hardly the most offensive word out there anyway. -- Orthotope talk 00:31, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Define "bad". Sheesh, you chose the wrong internet. 01:29, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Wow. Ban him please, disrespecting users. And sending nasty YouTube videos too. Nice. Didn't watch it, just removed it. Mokiki 14:03, 22 September 2013 (UTC

Anyway, pretty much anyone who plays Minecraft goes on the wiki, and that includes children. This wiki is NOT PG-13 to R, it is PG. AND you violated rule 16 sending me a video. Mokiki (talk) 14:03, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

P.S. I don't want an edit war here either, its not like it hurts to have it blanked. Edit wars are a more of a pain than just leaving it be, Mokiki (talk) 20:43, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Social-media buttons block content.

It's minor, but consistent: the four square buttons extend into article space, and for any given article they cover a fixed location on the page. Also, they are early enough on the page that resizing the window may not help much. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 12:42, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
