Netherite Armored Piglin?[]

I saw an armored piglin in one of the videos that was wearing a black helmet. Is this netherite armor? Harpcrossbow (talk) 04:25, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Most likely is, but also I'm thinking that it could be an Armored Piglin Brute, considering that the armored pilin already has a variant and its black outfit looking extremely similar. James Haydon (talk) 05:38, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
It's simple: There are 2 types of Piglin: the Piglin that attacks with crossbow and the Piglin that attacks melee. Each of these Piglins has 2 Armored variants: The Piglin with the Netherite helmet is the first range variant; the blue Piglin is the second range variant; the Piglin Brute is probably the first melee variant and the red Piglin is the second melee variant. (It's also important refer that all the armored mobs in minecraft dungeons have 2 variants). PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 11:04, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Quite confusing at the moment, we will need more info about this because all these piglin variants are just confusing. James Haydon (talk) 16:36, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
I don't think it's confusing, I even think it is very simple, look: we have a piglin with a sword and he has two armored variants and we have a piglin with a crossbow and he has two armored variants. It's the same for the Vindicator and Pillager, simple. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 17:13, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay yes, but someone on discord tried to explain to me that the black ranged armored Piglin was actually an armored Piglin Brute, due to the very similar appearance between the two. I still think that its an armored Piglin but they really insist that its an armored Piglin Brute. James Haydon (talk) 17:48, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Tell to them that he is basically a piglin brute with a netherite helmet because he is the equivalent of the brute piglin but the range variant. The 1st variant of the armored piglins (range and melee) have a rectangular buckle and only one golden bracelet, while the second variants have a square buckle, two bracelets, a gold helmet and more golden details. The Piglin Brute is to that Piglin as the Gold Armored Vindicator is to the Gold Armored Pillager. There is no armored Piglin Brute, the Piglin Brute is already the armored variant. The variants are only so confusing and mysterious because they are on the wiki by the wrong way. The Piglins and their illager equivalent:

Piglin Brute or Armored Piglin?[]

I think that the Piglin Brute should be moved to this page or, eventually the red Armored Piglin should be moved to the Piglin Brute's page. Because the Piglin Brute is the first variant of the "melee armored piglin" and the Red Armored Piglin is the second one. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 15:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Okay but is this really true? It may seem like it but there s a chance that it could just be a really strong version of the regular piglin. This is why we are datamining files right now. James Haydon (talk) 15:51, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay, I'm trying to find an enchanted piglin brute to see his name. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 15:58, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay, meanwhile I'm waiting for someone to unpack the new game files in QuickBMS so that we can get things like sounds and official renders. James Haydon (talk) 16:00, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
I found something interesting: While the Piglin with a sword is simply called "piglin", the piglin with a crossbow is called a "piglin hunter". Finally they can have separate pages and the same for their armored variants. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:11, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Check for the armored variant first, but it does almost seem like they're separate. James Haydon (talk) 16:14, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes. It's the same for the range armored variants, they are also called Piglin Hunter, I haven't found the name of the melee variants yet, but I will. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:33, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
It is the same for melee variants! PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:37, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
What are the melee variants called then? James Haydon (talk) 16:38, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Simply "Piglin". PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:41, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Okay so are Armored piglin referredmto as Armored Piglin or just piglin?
The melee armored piglins (Piglin Brute and Red Armored Piglin) are just called "Piglin" but all armored variants have the same name as their base mob. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:48, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Probably some weird internal error, we will know once the files are extracted, but I have a feeling that's it's just a bug. You dont see Armored Vindicator's just called "Vindicator". James Haydon (talk) 16:51, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Of course I see and in the gamefiles the only thig that distinguishes them is: Vindicator; Vindicator1; Vindicator2. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 16:56, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
But yet we still call them Armored Vindicator because it sounds more proper than just putting them on the Vindicator page or making a Vindicator Variant page. James Haydon (talk) 17:00, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes and they have their own page at MCD:Armored Piglin. I just said how they are called in the game, it doesn’t mean I’ll call them by Piglin on the Wiki. PedroDungeons1776 (talk) 17:07, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
