Minecraft Dungeons talk:Pink Slime
We’ve heard several different names for this mob by now; Conjured Slime, Corrupted Slime, Cauldron Slime, Pink Slime, Purple Slime, you name it. I know the latter two have been found in the game files, but does it have an actual in-game name? I’ve still yet to see one. -22.214.171.124 21:36, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
Conjured Slime to Pink Slime
I just found the proof of this mobs name. But there is some things need to talk.
First, game data ID name ≠ In-game source string name. (except the planned mobs that only have ID name in data)
Give an example. Before the Creepy Winter DLC release. We got the ID name mob No. 167 "Chillager". Then English page already create the Chillager page. But after that we are wrong because it is Iceologer.
And I wrote the line of MCD:mob page last month. After the Jack O Lantern trap discussion. A admin verify again because Jack O Lantern trap is texture name… In ID name is Jack O Lantern. Because it is unused mobs and no in-game. So we keep the ID name.
Talk about the Crowdin. I know English and other west country language don't need it cause mojang already translate it. But in Chinese we are not lucky anymore because the low quality of translate. (Old issues since bedrock edition even the MCD) So our admin upload all sources string to Crowdin. Start a project "Fanmade Chinese Fanmade pack".
Because Crowdin we already know "Chillager" real office name is "Iceologer" when this game is Officially released. And the Conjured Slime actually is made-up because we can't find this name in Crowdin. There is the details from Crowdin. (The screenshot I would send to wiki autopatrol NineTreyBlud)
Source String: Pink Slime Content: MobType/mob_SlimeCauldron
Source String: Iceologer Content: MobType/mob_Chillager
Source String: Leapleaf Content: MobType/mob_Leaper
- Should I help to reword a bit? In the localization file extracted from the game we can found the actual name of the entity, but the key (MobType/mob_SlimeCauldron) and the word (Pink Slime) are inconsistent, and similar case for Iceologer and Leapleaf. For Crowdin, it's some Chinese Wiki users started a fanmade language pack project before Chinese is added to Minecraft Dungeons officially, and the project still remains active due to the low quality of official translations. The Jack O' Lantern doesn't exist in the localization file but in textures, so the name is from the texture, which means it's not a official decided name to be displayed in the game.-- Lakejason0 (Talk • Contribs) 15:03, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- I can help extract localization files if anyone wants a "proof".-- Lakejason0 (Talk • Contribs) 15:07, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
