Genus?[]

I still think "family" is better. A genus implies that all the different piglin professions are separate species. The family of piglins, on the other hand, has both a taxonomic meaning and a common meaning that would make more sense. Amatulic (talk) 03:39, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Genus makes sense for the Hoglin, the undead ones and the piglin merchant Drour1234 (talk), 3 September 2021 (UTC)
Family would make even more sense. Amatulic (talk) 05:52, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

No, that's backward. Family is higher in the taxonomic hierarchy than genus. Family includes genus, which in turn includes species.
I would also argue that professions aren't different species. Just as we have different villager professions (all one species because they can all breed), we also have piglin professions: commoner, warrior, merchant, and so on. Even a zombified piglin would be the same species, analogous to zombie villager (which can be cured).
In any case, it is not even necessary to mention any taxonomic terms, especially if they're being misused. That is why I have removed them. Amatulic (talk) 16:59, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Capital Genus[]

Genus is never written in the game in capital letters, therefore we are also supposed to title the page as such. Spectrogram (talk) 06:49, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Is the word "genus" in the game at all in the context of piglins? Amatulic (talk) 05:51, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
