A wildfire is a powerful mob that is found within the Luminous Night seasonal adventure and appears as a statue within the Flames of the Nether DLC.
Appearance
A wildfire is a large mob, similar in appearance to a blaze albeit bigger and somewhat tougher. It possesses four large shields which float around it, which act as protection. These four shields of the wildfire happens to be its own model and entity that is separate from the wildfire. Wildfires also has blaze rod like pillar under its blaze-like head. What makes its head different from blazes, however, is the helmet that it wears which is fitted with a small red gem.
Spawning
- Nether Wastes
- Basalt Deltas
- Nether Fortress
- Crimson Forest
- Gold Room
- Soul Sand Valley
- Daily Trial
- Ancient Hunt
- Tower
Behavior
Wildfires act as shielded mobs similar to royal guards, skeleton vanguards, and tower guards, where the mob's shield must be destroyed first. However, unlike most shielded mobs, wildfires have four shields, all of which must be destroyed before inflicting damage, and the shields can also take multiple hits before breaking. When wildfires are low on health, they will retreat to seek out a fire source to heal itself like blazes, but can also regenerate damaged and destroyed shields.
- Basic attack
Wildfires will occasionally shoot a barrage of shield debris instead of fireballs at a hero.
- Shockwave attack
Wildfires will slam the ground if a target gets too close, sending out a small shockwave, knocking back both heroes and mobs.
- Summon
Wildfires are also capable of summoning one or two blazes to assist it.

Lingering potions are variants of splash potions that can be thrown to leave clouds with status effects that linger on the ground in an area.
Obtaining
Brewing
Brewing

Usage
Creating area effect clouds
Lingering potions are thrown, like splash potions, by using them. On impact they explode, creating a cloud. The cloud is made of the potion particles corresponding to the potion that was thrown.
The cloud starts with a radius of 3 blocks, decreasing to 0 over the course of 30 seconds. During the cloud's existence, any player or mob that walks into it after the first second gets the corresponding status effect; this decreases the radius by a 1 block immediately, reducing the cloud's lifespan by 5 seconds.
For effects with duration, the duration applied by the cloud is 1 that of the corresponding potion. For effects without duration such as healing or harming, the potency of the effect is 1 that of the corresponding potion.
The effect may be applied consecutively if the player or mob remains in the cloud. For example, a player throwing the Lingering Potion of Healing II straight down consumes the cloud within a few seconds while being healed 5 times for a total of 20 health. As far as healing is concerned, this makes the lingering potion much more powerful than the regular or splash potion, provided that the player is away from other mobs or players.
Lingering potions can also be thrown out of dispensers like splash potions.
Lingering water bottle
Like the splash water bottle, a lingering water bottle puts out fire and damages endermen and blazes by 1. It creates no effect cloud.
Mud
Lingering water bottles can be used on dirt, coarse dirt, or rooted dirt to turn it into mud.
Crafting ingredient
Filling cauldrons
bedrock, using a lingering potion on a cauldron adds one level of that potion to the cauldron. Attempting to add a lingering potion to a cauldron with water, dyed water or a non-matching potion empties the cauldron and creates an explosion sound (but no actual explosion).
Uncraftable lingering potion
java, the uncraftable potion is a splash potion with no effect that is unobtainable in regular gameplay. It is also available in potion and splash potion forms, as well as for tipped arrows.
It can be obtained using the following command: {{cmd|give @s minecraft:lingering_potion{Potion:"minecraft:empty"} }}. It is also obtained any time a potion has invalid or missing potion effect tags, and thus serves as a placeholder.

Custom effects
java, lingering potions can be obtained with any status effect using give and the tag CustomPotionEffects, which is an array of effects for the potion. See Item format#Potion Effects for more information, and status effect for a list of effects and IDs.

A milk bucket is a drink obtained from a bucket on cows, mooshrooms and goats that can be consumed to clear all effects.
Obtaining
Harvesting
Milk buckets can be obtained from cows, mooshrooms, and goats by pressing use while looking at them with an empty bucket.
Mob loot
A milk bucket has a chance of dropping from a wandering trader, if the trader is killed while holding it.java
Usage
Holding use with a milk bucket starts the drinking sound and animation. java, the animation is shown only in first-person camera mode.
When consumed, milk immediately removes all status effects from the player. Fire is not a status effect; therefore, drinking milk doesn't extinguish a burning player.
The benefits of area status effects granted by beacons and conduit power are restored almost immediately in Bedrock Edition and after a few seconds in Java Edition.

Trivia
- The wildfire was one of the available mobs players could vote for during MINECON Earth 2017 to be in the main Minecraft game, with the temporary name "Mob D" (The Hovering Inferno). The eventual winner of the vote was "Mob B" (or “The Monster of the Night Skies”), which would become the Phantom. Also, some of its abilities are based on potential abilities the Wildfire would have if it was added to Minecraft, such as the shields and summoning blazes.
