SPIDER – Spiders shoot webs to snare heroes, which can slow you down, but a quick melee hit is all you need to defeat them.

Guide to Minecraft Dungeons:
A Handbook for Heroes

A spider is a common hostile mob that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.

Appearance

Spiders in Minecraft Dungeons look exactly how they do within the original game, with the only difference being that it raises its abdomen to shoot spider webs.

Spawning

Spiders spawn when night falls, regardless of the following missions, when at least one hero is defeated in multiplayer.

Behavior

Spiders are hostile toward heroes and their companions. Within the arcade edition, they can drop from the ceiling using their silk.

Basic attack

Spiders do not attack directly at first, instead, they shoot spider webs.

Walk

Spiders flee when an un-webbed hero approaches.

Stun

Spiders run to repeatedly bite targets if one is caught within a spider web.

Strong attack

Spiders have a sound file named "Call" that they use to call other spiders. This sometimes happens when a spider sees a hero suddenly and gets scared. The spider would tighten its legs and jump a little bit, like arthropod animals in real life.

Spider web

A spider web is a projectile that can be used exclusively by spiders within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.

Appearance

A spider web in Minecraft Dungeons looks like its counterpart within the original game.
