Note:
- Add a render of the Vanguard Armor.
- Add sounds for being spawned in missions and summoned by the Nameless One.
A skeleton vanguard is an undead hostile skeleton variant found within Minecraft Dungeons. Vanguard armor is exclusively worn by them.
Appearance
Skeleton vanguards are seen wearing vanguard armor, a leather belt around its waist, and an iron helmet with a brown stripe wrapped around it near the base which is thought to tie the gold stun on the helmet.
Spawning
- Desert Temple
- Lower Temple
- Panda Plateau
- Overgrown Temple
- Lone Fortress
- Abyssal Monument (Secret area)
- The Stronghold
- Daily Trial
- Tower
Behavior
The Skeleton Vanguard has two behaviors.
- Walk
A skeleton vanguard immediately chases the hero once seen or alerted by another mob.
- Attack
When close enough, it stabs the target with its glaive (which makes skeletons vanguard melee attackers). The shield serves as extra health as it absorbs the first attack. The skeleton vanguard has a longer attack reach than most other mobs, so it can hit targets from farther away. Their long attack reach also allows them to take down allies more easily, such as wolves, who can't touch them because of this glaive.
Vanguard Armor
The vanguard armor is an unobtainable set of armor worn exclusively by skeleton vanguards.
Appearance
The iron chest plate is cover half of the rib cage. The chest plate extands to the back and around the arms.
Desert Shield
A desert shield is an unobtainable shield equipped exclusively by skeleton vanguards.

A spider eye is a poisonous food and brewing item.
Obtaining
Mob loot
Spiders
Spiders and cave spiders have a 1 chance of dropping a spider eye when killed by a player or tamed wolf, but not when killed by environmental damage (such as falling). The maximum amount of spider eyes is increased by 1 per level of Looting. The chance of a spider not dropping any spider eyes can be found using the formula <code>2 / (Looting Level + 3)</code>. For example, Looting III gives a 1 chance of not dropping any spider eyes. All other amounts have an equal chance of occurring.
Witches
Witches have a chance of dropping 0–6 spider eyes upon death. This is increased by 3 per level of Looting, for a maximum of 0-15 spider eyes.
Chest loot
spider-eye
Usage
Food
When eaten, a spider eye restores 2 hunger points and 3.2 saturation points, giving a nourishment value of 1.6. It also applies a Poison effect lasting 5 seconds to the player, causing damage, which reduces hunger/saturation by 6 points.

A carrot is a food item obtained from carrot crops that can be used to plant them, eaten or used as a crafting ingredient.
Carrot crops are planted in farmland and used to grow carrots.
Obtaining
Breaking
Fortune#Seeds
Fully grown carrot crops drop 2 to 5 carrots (3 per crop harvested on average). Yield can be increased using a tool enchanted with Fortune, with Fortune III harvesting an average of 5 carrots.
The yield is calculated by a binomial distribution: 2 drops are fixed, then a drop is attempted three times with a success rate of 57.14286% to yield the extra 0–3 drops. Each level of Fortune enchantment increases the number of attempts by one.
Natural generation
Village farm plots have a chance of having carrots. The exact chance depends on the style of the village:
Village style !! Chance
plains-village Plains || 30%
snowy-village Snowy || 10%
Mob loot
Zombies, husks, and zombie villagers have a 2.5% (1) chance of dropping either an iron ingot, carrot, or potato when killed by a player or tamed wolf. This is increased by 1% (1) per level of looting. This gives carrots the following chances of dropping:
* 1 (about 0.83%)
* 7 (about 1.17%) with Looting I
* 9 (about 1.50%) with Looting II
* 11 (about 1.83%) with Looting III
Chest loot
carrot
Usage
To eat a carrot, press and hold use while the carrot is selected in the hotbar. Eating a carrot restores 3 hunger and 3.6 hunger saturation.
Farming
Carrots can be farmed and harvested on farmland. Planted carrots take 8 stages to grow, and go through 4 visually distinct stages. Planted carrots require a light level of 9 or greater to continue growing. If the light level is 7 or below, the crops instantly un-plant themselves ("pop off"). It is not possible to plant carrots if the light level is too low.
Crops grow faster if the farmland they are planted in is hydrated. Using bone meal on crops also increases the speed of growth by randomly increasing their growth stage by 2 to 5.
Crops break if pushed by a piston or if their supporting farmland breaks or turns to dirt (i.e. by being trampled), dropping their usual drops.
If gamerule mobGriefing is <code>true</code>, rabbits will find mature carrot cropsje / carrot crops with growth stage greater than 1be. This reduces the growth stages by one, removing the crop completely when the growth stage reaches 0.
Breeding
Carrots can also be used to breed and attract pigs and rabbits.
Villagers can pick up carrot items to become willing, which allow them to breed. Villagers require 12 carrots to become willing.
Trading
Novice-level Farmer villagers have a 25% (1)bedrock or 40% (2)java chance to buy 22 carrots for an emerald.
Crafting ingredient
crafting usage
Composting
Placing a carrot into a composter has a 65% chance of raising the compost level by 1.

Mushroom stew is a food item.
Obtaining
Harvesting
Mushroom stew can be obtained by “milking” a mooshroom with an empty bowl. This is accomplished by using a bowl on a mooshroom. The bowl gets replaced by the mushroom stew item. There is no cooldown for doing so.
If a stack of more than one bowl is used on a mooshroom, only one bowl is consumed, and the mushroom stew goes into an empty inventory slot, or is dropped if the player's inventory is full.

To eat mushroom stew, press and hold use while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores 6 hunger and 7.2 hunger
saturation.
The bowl is returned to the player empty after the mushroom stew has been eaten, and can be reused to craft more, similarly to rabbit stew and beetroot soup.

This article does not include block items, which you can find a list of here.
An item is an object that exists only within the player's inventory and hands, or displayed in item frames, glow item frames, or armor stands.
Behavior
Some items, when used, place a block (ItemBlock) or entity (minecart, spawn eggs, etc.) version of themselves into the game world. Put simply, they are an item when in the inventory, and a block when placed. For example, boats turn into an entity when placed, and beds turn into a group of blocks when placed. When selected in the hotbar, items briefly display their names above the HUD.
The only method by which an item can be properly displayed within the game environment is to place it into an item frame.
If an item that does not become a block is dropped, it becomes an entity represented by a sprite that floats above the ground for 5 minutes in a loaded chunk before despawning, unless the player walks over it to pick it up before it despawns, it is picked up by a mob, hopper or minecart with hopper, or it is destroyed by fire, lava, cactus, or explosions.
A submerged object ascends towards the water’s edge. When the surface current is in motion, the object is propelled along with it.
Hoppers draw in any items that are placed above them.
Most items stack to 64, but some only stack to 16 and others not at all but all types of items can be stacked up to 127 through inventory editing.
