The key golem squirms and yells in fear while on the hero's back. If the hero is damaged while wearing the key golem, the key golem escapes and flees back to its original location, but if another entity hits it, that entity gets the key golem on its back. If the hero reaches a locked door while wearing a key golem, it disappears, the lock turns yellow, and the door opens.

The key golem can be picked up by certain mobs. If the mob gets killed, the key returns to the closest rug.
