An Illager is a type of mob that makes up the majority of the Arch-Illager's followers and minions. They appear in nearly every mission except for ???, Jungle Awakens, Flames of the Nether, and Hidden Depths, although a few Illagers spawn in a secret area in the Radiant Ravine secret mission.
Story
The Illagers are members of a cruel society in which the strong rule over all. Until the Arch-Illager came along, they were never strong enough to pose a threat to the peace of the Overworld. Nowadays, Illagers are stronger, being capable of burning villages, destroying Iron Golems, and killing or enslaving Villagers. Illagers make up the Illager empire, under the rule of the Arch-Illager. The main storyline requires the hero to rescue the villagers, defeat the Illagers, and save the Overworld...
Mob List
- Arch-Illager — Ruler of the Illager empire; summons and enchants mobs, as well as the vessel of the Orb of Dominance. Appears as the final boss of Obsidian Pinnacle and Minecraft Dungeons.
- Armored End Vindicator — An unknown Illager that appears in the the cutscene at the end of The Stronghold, which shows an Armored variant of the End Vindicator checking the environment of the End Wilds after being teleported.
- Armored Mountaineer — A more powerful version of the mountaineer that has a black (gold tier) and red variant (diamond tier).
- Armored Pillager — Armored variant of the pillagers (gold or diamond). Diamond armored pillagers can only be stunned by specific artifacts or the Stunning enchantment.
- Armored Vindicator — Armored variant (gold or diamond) of the Vindicator, attacks using a Double Axe or Whirlwind. Diamond armored vindicators can only be stunned by specific artifacts or the Stunning enchantment.
- Enchanter — Illagers that enchants other mobs, but only with fast attack or double damage.
- End Illager — An unknown Illager that appears in the the cutscene at the end of The Stronghold, which shows an End Illager walking around the End Wilds after being teleported.
- End Vindicator — An unknown Illager that appears in the the cutscene at the end of The Stronghold, which shows an End Vindicator checking the environment of the End Wilds after being teleported.
- Evoker — An Illager Miniboss, occasionally a boss, that summons vexes and evocation fangs.
- Evoker (mob) — A mob variant of the Evoker found exclusively in Arcade. Has the same attacks as the Evoker but has less HP.
- Geomancer — An Illager with a walking stick. They are tactical Illagers that use their stick to summon stone pillars and bombs.
- Giant Royal Guard [unofficial name] — A large, enhanced Royal Guard that appears as a boss in Squid Coast in the Minecraft Dungeons Arcade game. Attacks with a large Mace and has great power and defense thanks to the Arch-Illager and the Orb of Dominance.
- Iceologer — An Illager that summons blocks of Ice Chunks that drop on heroes.
- Illusioner — An Illager spellcaster that attacks by creating illusions of itself and shooting the hero. Like the evoker, but with more health (less after 1.7.2.0), is mostly a miniboss except for when appearing as a Boss in the Frosted Fjord and the Lost Settlement
- Mage — A planned Illager spellcaster that was rendered unused (cannot be found in the base game, was removed from the base game files). Instead the mage makes an appearance in Minecraft Dungeons Arcade as one of the enemies where they lift heroes up before smashing them down.
- Mountaineer — An Illager that climbs cold peaks and attacks the hero using an icepick.
- Pillager — An uncommon ranged Illager that attacks with a Crossbow that can pierce through targets.
- Raid Captain - Either an Armored Vindicator, Armored Pillager, or Royal Guard that spawns with a Raid Banner that spawn in various levels. When killed, they drop their banner that give heroes modifiers that can hinder them from progressing.
- Rampart Captain - An Armored Mountaineer that wears an Ominous Banner, does high damage with it’s Mountaineer Pick, and leads the garrison besieging the endless ramparts of the Howling Peaks.
- Royal Guard — Elite variants of Vindicators who defend the Arch-Illager with a shield and a spiked Mace and wears Dark Armor.
- Vindicator — The most common Illager. They are the Arch-Illager's foot soldiers and fight with an Axe.
- Vindicator Chef — A chef variant of the vindicator that cooks food. Only appears in Highblock Halls and in a hidden area in the Lone Fortress. Attacks with a Ladle.
Unseen Illagers
- Ancient Illager Soldier — wielders of the Maulers. They are mentioned in the description of the Maulers (cannot be found in the game).
- General — Conqueror of the Squid Coast, wields the Heartstealer (cannot be found in the game).
- Illager Warrior — Special Protectors of the Arch-Illager, mentioned in the description of the Splendid Robe. They would wield the Splendid Robe. They may have resembled an Evoker (cannot be found in the game).
- Jailor — Guard of the prison in the Highblock Halls, wields the Jailor's Scythe (cannot be found in the game).
- Reaver — Infamous Illagers of the sea, mentioned in the old description of the Scale Mail. They would wield the Scale Mail armor (cannot be found in the game).
- Warden — Protector of the Highblock Halls, wields the Truthseeker (cannot be found in the game).
Named Illagers
- Archie — The Arch-Illager's real name and who he was known as before the Orb of Dominance took over his mind. As of now, he is free from the control of the Orb of Dominance. Current whereabouts are unknown.
- Thord — Archie's childhood bully. Was presumably defeated by Redstone Golems or burned by lava after attempting to betray the Arch-Illager. Current status is unknown, though most likely deceased.
- Walda — Former leader of Archie's former mansion home. She was the one who crowned the Arch-Illager. Current whereabouts are unknown.
Artifacts
- Enchanter's Tome — Meant only to be wielded by Enchanters, this artifact can summon powerful enchantments.
- Lightning Rod — Crafted by Illager Geomancers, this item is enchanted with the power of a storming sky.
- Soul Healer — The Soul Healer amulet is cold to the touch and trembles with the power of souls. It is a common artifact among the Illagers of the Woodland Mansion.
Melee Weapons
- Axe — The axe is an effective weapon, favored by the relentless Vindicators of the Arch-Illager's army.
- Double Axe — A devastating weapon fit for barbaric fighters. (Gold Tier Armored Vindicator)
- Firebrand — Crafted in the blackest depths of the Fiery Forge and enchanted with fiery powers.
- Heartstealer — Gifted to one of the Arch-Illager's most distinguished generals upon their conquest of the Squid Coast - this runeblade is infused with dark witchcraft.
- Jailor's Scythe — This scythe belonged to the terror of Highblock Keep, the Jailor.
- Ladle — The ladle is a special skin of the Axe. Also the weapon only wielded by the Vindicator Chefs.
- Mace — The Mace is a brutal tool of war and what it lacks in finesse; it makes up for in power. (Royal Guard)
- Maulers — These claw-like weapons, wielded by ancient Illager soldiers, are savage in battle.
- Mountaineer Pick — The Mountaineer Axe is a special skin of the Axe, and is a weapon only wielded by Mountaineers and Armored Mountaineers.
- Stormlander — The Stormlander, enchanted with the power of the raging storm, is a treasure of the Illagers.
- Truthseeker — The warden of Highblock Keep kept this unpleasant blade by their side during interrogations.
- Whirlwind — Whirlwind, forged during an epic windstorm, is a double-bladed axe that levitates slightly. (Diamond Tier armored vindicator)

- Auto Crossbow — The Arch-Illager said the design for this powerful crossbow came to him in a vision.
- Crossbow — The crossbow is the ranged weapon of the Illagers and is a common sight among Pillager warriors.
- Soul Crossbow — The Soul Crossbow was crafted by the mysterious Evokers and Enchanters of the Woodland Mansions.
- Soul Bow — The Soul Bow shimmers with all the beauty and fury of an attacking Vex.
- The Slicer — The peak of mischievous Illager-engineering, the famous Slicer was designed to fire bolts that pierce through even the thickest of armor.
