— Mojang Studios on the gameplay of Minecraft Dungeons |
This is the page concerning information regarding the gameplay of Minecraft Dungeons.
Genre
The game is an action/adventure RPG. Players defeat enemies with a variety of different weapons, also known as "hack and slash". They make their way through levels, slashing hordes of enemies by aiming and pressing the attack button.
Plot
Players fight illagers and other enemies, led by the antagonistic Arch-Illager, to free the villagers from oppression.[1]
Items
Defeated enemies drop emeralds, experience points and sometimes a piece of equipment. Players can equip a weapon, a bow, armor and three artifacts at any one time. Minecraft Dungeons heavily relies on a constant search for new drops that are more powerful than the current equipment.
Multiplayer
The game supports multiplayer for up to 4 players at once, you can play either locally or online with friends, you cannot play both online and local multiplayer at the same time.
Local multiplayer uses a dynamic camera, rather than a split-screen, and prevents players from getting too far away from each other. Teleporting is disabled.
Mobs
Mobs come in a variety of all shapes and sizes. Most of the mobs are hostile toward the player. As the game progresses, enemies become bigger and stronger. However, greater items are rewarded to players as they equip stronger weapons while fighting stronger enemies.
