— In-game description |
The enchantsmith is a camp merchant that can be found within the Fauna Faire seasonal adventure of Minecraft Dungeons.
Appearance[]
The first design for the enchantsmith was a merchant similar in looks to a librarian but instead of one book, it possessed three books atop its head, one blue, one red, and one brown. It wore a red robe with torn bottom ends, sleeves, and a cape, and a blue undershirt with gold rims around the sleeves and three yellow buttons. It also wore a gold belt and a monocle akin to a cartographer.
In the Luminous Night seasonal adventure, its robes are now more purple and rather than green, has purple eyes and wears a purple headdress with a gem on it, atop of which is its signature books, with only two rather than three. It also wears shoes rather than sandals.
In the Fauna Faire seasonal adventure, the sew thing, signature books hat and cape have been removed.

Interaction[]
The enchantsmith can be found captured in the outside area of Highblock Halls, next to the golden key gate. After being rescued by the hero, the enchantsmith can be found in the north-east area of the Camp, near the Nether Cave.
The enchantsmith charges gold to change a selected enchantment into a different random enchantment. If a piece of gear that is already enchanted is selected, all enchantment points on that gear will be returned. When a piece of gear has been altered by the enchantsmith, it gains a purple "custom" tag. The custom tag does not affect anything about the piece of gear, it is just a label.
Pricing[]
The base price to reroll an enchantment depends on the power level of the item, the price rises as the power level rises. Once rerolling an enchantment, the price to reroll a second time will be 10% higher than the previous price. So if the price was fifty gold at first, it would be fifty-five gold for a second reroll. The price will keep rising by 10% upon each reroll until reaching the maximum price of one hundred gold.
Stacking enchantments[]
If an item has a stackable enchantment in the gilded slot, it will not normally appear in any other enchantment slot on that item. However, by rerolling the item with the enchantsmith, stackable enchantments can appear multiple times even when in the gilded slot. This allows some enchantments to stack up to four times, which is not possible through any other method.
