Enchanted mobs are glowing, slightly larger mobs with 1 or more additional properties that make them more of a threat to players compared to standard mobs.

Enchanted Mobs

Enchanted mobs obtain their enchantments from an Enchanter, the Arch-Illager or spawn with enchantments. Passive, such as Sheep, and neutral mobs can also appear with enchantments.
Enchanted mobs are the player's hunting target for the Mystery Merchant to unlock more slots in his stall. Enchanted mobs can overwhelm the Player much faster than mini-boss or boss mobs, especially on Apocalypse Plus threat levels, where they spawn in large numbers, are much faster, and have less stagger durations. On such high difficulties, these mobs are not to be approached recklessly.

Dungeons HUD Enchanted Mob

Heads up Display when near an enchanted Chicken Jockey. The three enchantments attached are Common enchantments as indicated by the purple icon. A pink icon would be used for Powerful enchantments.

The Heads-up display presents the name, enchantments, and enchantment rarity (Common or Powerful) possessed by nearby enchanted mobs. Players can use this as an indication that enchanted mobs are close and plan ahead on how to confront them.

Ancient Mobs

Ancient Mob

An ancient Skeleton Vanguard spawned in a Desert Temple-like Ancient hunt.

A stronger, more formidable, and powerful variant of Enchanted mobs exclusive to Ancient Hunts[1], Ancient Mobs are mobs possessing their own designated arena[1], with a group of "minion" mobs, and have a chance to drop Gilded Gear upon its and its minions' defeat.[2]

Dedicating equipment with a combined power of at least 100 to the Hunt is required to permit Ancient Mobs to spawn and sacrificing Enchantment Points will increase the chance of Ancient Mobs spawning.[3]

Trivia

  • Enchanted mobs have an enchanted light-glowing appearance. The more enchantments they have, the brighter their appearance. For example, a mob with 3 enchantments appears brighter than if the mob has 1 enchantment. The mob also becomes slightly larger when enchanted.
  • The Love Medallion does not work on enchanted mobs.
  • Players can use ranged weapons with Wild Rage to give enchanted mobs with the Fire Trail enchantment, which makes the mob burn on its own trail.
  • Occasionally, animals can spawn enchanted, while the Piggy Bank can rarely spawn enchanted on Daily Trials and Seasonal Trials.
  • Quick, Regeneration, Heal Allies are obtainable on mobs but are not enchantable onto player equipment.
  • Only two boss mobs can be enchanted, the Tempest Golem and the Evoker.
    • This is most likely because both bosses have Enchanters summon in their boss arenas, allowing them to be enchanted. Other bosses may be enchanted too, but can't because Enchanters don't spawn in their arena.
  • Currently, mobs still spawn with broken enchantments although the difficulties were rebalanced.

These are a more powerful type of enchanted mobs, each of which lives in their own area that you may encounter during the hunts. In their arena, they are summoned by pressing a button located in the arena. Each ancient mob also has its own loot table, meaning gilded items of a given type can only be dropped by one specific ancient mob. Let’s say you wanted some gilded daggers – to find them, you would need to input the correct combination of items to encounter one specific ancient mob, and then defeat it for a chance to get the daggers."

The Ancient mobs have a group of minions who add even more of a challenge to these encounters. You’ll need to defeat the Ancient mobs and their formidable friends to reap the rewards. "
  3. Dungeons Deep Dive article:Ancient Hunts "these powerful mobs are very selective and won’t show up for just any random things in your inventory. As a rule, you’ll need to offer up items that have a combined power of at least 100. Hey, we didn’t say that getting Gilded items would be easy! You can also offer Enchantment Points to increase the odds of an Ancient mob spawning during the Ancient Hunt.'""
