Ancient Hunts are "end-game" missions that require players to have reached Default V[1] and permanently sacrifice Weapons, Armor, Artifacts and Enchantment Points to access them. [2]
A Nether portal located in the cave at Camp serves as the point of access for Ancient Hunts.
The quality and number of the sacrificed materials influence the rewards obtained[3], the procedural generation of the Hunt[2], the mobs and Ancient Mobs, a more powerful variant of Enchanted Mobs[1] . Players will travel between the Overworld and the Nether during the Hunts, that appear during the Hunt. Players will also find several Gold chests, which will give Gold to trade with the Piglin Merchant.
Once a Hunt has been generated, players can leave and enter the hunt over the course of several play sessions.[1]
The Nether portions of the Hunts are a source of Gold, for use with the Piglin Merchant, and Gilded Gear[1] - which is equipment with an additional Enchantment Slot built-in.
Enchantment Points sacrificed for the Hunt may lower the player's Character Level to ensure that spending Enchantment Points does not make them harder to re-obtain.[4]
Locations
Ancient Hunts can take place in all of the 6 nether locations, but there are entrances to other small parts of levels that contain a button. When pressed, an alarm sound will play and an ancient mob and its enchanted minions will spawn. There is also a very rare chance for a Woodland Prison, Spider Cave, Desert Temple, Creeper Woods, or a Woodland Mansion Ancient hunt to occur.

If you are at level 200 and you spend 10 levels, you are at level 190?... effectively spending points doesn't keep making it harder and harder to gain.
