Magma Blocks are light-emitting naturally occurring blocks found in the Nether that cause damage when stepped on. They also have an animated texture.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Magma blocks are found naturally in the Nether near lava lakes. They can be broken with a pickaxe.

Usage
Magma blocks damage living entities standing on top of them, dealing 1
of damage every 1⁄4 second.[verify] Magma blocks do not destroy items.
The Frost Walker enchantment will protect the wearer from any magma block damage.
On killing a player, the death message displayed in chat is 'Player discovered floor was lava'.
When in contact with water, it will occasionally make one water source boil away.

== Usage ==
When held by a player, the recovery compass will point towards the spot where they previously died.
The recovery compass will only work when it is held by a player who has previously died and is in the same dimension as their last death. Otherwise, it will spin around randomly.
Like other items, the recovery compass itself will still drop when a player dies and the <code>keepInventory</code> [[game rule]] is not enabled.
This item is useless on Hardcore mode, as once the player dies, the player cannot respawn.
