1.5 was a major update to the launcher released on July 28, 2014.

Changes

• Development Console tab renamed to Launcher Log
• The player can now run multiple instances of Minecraft at once, provided they're on different users
• Play button renamed to Already Playing... if Minecraft is open while looking at launcher
• New tab called Game Output (yourusername) appears after launching minecraft
