- Allowed those connected to a player's LAN network to join SP games
- The player can now use “/publish” to open your single-player game for LAN players to join. This is still very much work in progress, so it lacks some necessary settings such as what game mode players will get, and if they should be able to use cheats or not. Also, the “/publish” command is temporary, since the player can not even access it if they have not enabled cheats (LAN connections will be GUI based in the future)
- Added the /tp command from multiplayer to singleplayer, allowing teleporting between players.
- The player can now place Levers on the underside of blocks, upside-down.[4]
- Improved Ender Chests
- Now has an inventory per player and not per world. Also, knocking down the chest will break it into 8 obsidian, unless the player has Silk Touch enchantment
- Updated language files
- The texture pack folder button now works on Mac.
- A lot of smaller changes and fixes.
| Bug Fixes:
|
- Fixed Ender Pearls and Eye of Ender not aligning properly in the inventory
- Fixed the double chest GUI having the caption "Large Chest" in all languages
- Fixed the "Destroy Item" tooltip appearing in other pages of the inventory occasionally
- Partially remedied bug when Minecraft does not save the player's progress, stops generating chunks, and freezes all the mobs. This still occurs sometimes.
- Fixed the Ender Dragon not dealing any damage to the player after it has been hit once
- Fixed explosions not pushing back players.
- Fixed buckets not picking up or placing water within the spawn protection.
- Fixed losing the items in the second trade box if the player exits a trade with a Villager
- Fixed missing sounds:
- Fixed water-movement sound.
- Fixed Fire sound.
- Fixed extinguish sound.
- Fixed Nether Portal sound
- Fixed lava-stagnant sound.
- Fixed lava-droplet sound.
- Fixed attempting to use a Tripwire Hook when right clicking.
|
| Notable Bugs (Complete bug list):
|
- When the player dies or leaves the End, the items in the Ender Chest will also be gone.
- Tripwire connections between two tripwire hooks must have all tripwire either on a non-solid block, or on a solid block, or else the connection will not work.
- Sometimes entities disappear[5].
- The lightning sound effect does not work

- Fixed frequent null pointer exceptions in survival mode.[6][7]
| Notable Bugs (Complete bug list):
|
- Because Singleplayer acts similar to Multiplayer, Minecraft sometimes doesn't save your progress, or it may just stop generating chunks and freeze all the mobs.[citation needed]

- Trading with Villagers has been updated
- Villagers can now trade all sorts of items with you (for example, 1 emerald + 10 gravel -> 3 flint)
- Some villagers will offer to enchant items (e.g. 3 emerald + 1 iron pickaxe -> 1 iron pickaxe with Fortune I)
- Enchantment system has been rebalanced
- The maximum enchantment level has been lowered from 50 to 30.
- As a result enchantment tables now require only 15 bookcases around them to allow maximum level enchantments.
- With a full enchantment table set with bookshelves, at the bottom of the 3 enchantments, it always shows you the highest number possible
- Using level 30 enchantments, the player has a lot more luck; almost all items get at least 2 enchantments
- Various actions will now reward the player with Experience Orbs, such as mining ores (except Gold Ore and Iron Ore), using furnaces, and getting achievements
- Levels are now awarded linearly. It takes 17 Experience to go up one level.
- Shift-clicking now works with enchantment tables.
- Smelting in a furnace with a lava bucket now leaves an empty bucket for the player to retrieve.
- Added Jungle temples.
- Added Tripwire Hooks.
- String can now be placed to create a tripwire between the hooks
- Added potions to the Creative inventory; found in "brewing" category.
- Added Block of Emerald.
- Added delete item, armor and crafting to survival inventory when in creative.
- Pausing now works again in singleplayer.
- Some minor terrain changes.
- Added an "adventure" game mode (/gamemode 2).
- The player cannot break or place any blocks.
- The player can interact with any blocks, like doors and levers, and can buy from Villagers.
- The player can still damage mobs.
- Added Silverfish Cobblestone and Stone Brick Egg blocks to the Creative inventory.
- Rain will slowly drip through leaves.
- Extremely rarely, Nether Portals will spawn Zombie Pigmen[10].
- When exposed to rain, Cauldrons have a possibility of slowly filling with water[11][12].
- Blocks seen in inventory are oriented to the right instead to the left.
- Half-slabs can now be placed upside-down when pointing at the upper half of the side of a block. This does not work with stairs.
Debug Features:
- Pressing F will reload the chunks.
| Bug Fixes:
|
- In the redstone tab of the creative inventory, the redstone torch is now on instead of being off.
- In the decoration tab of the creative inventory, the redstone torch has been removed.
- Fixed the size of Slimes which was sometimes wrong in the previous snapshot.
- Fully charged arrows now show their particle effect again.
- Arrows are now stuck at the correct position in the block they hit.
- The language English (US) is available again.
- Fixed Enderman often not shaking and opening their jaws when looked at.[13]
- Fixed repeaters sometimes being stuck when loading the chunks they are in. [14]
- The Search tab does not automatically open up unless the player presses their chat key, allowing the inventory to be closed with the normal inventory key again.
|
| Notable Bugs (Complete bug list):
|
- Because the max enchantment level is now 30, it is only possible to get some enchantments such as Sharpness V or Efficiency V with Golden Sword or Golden Tools. (Don't know if this is a bug.)
- Water or Lava cannot be used near the original spawn, even when there is no spawn protection (like in multiplayer.)
- When accidentally shift-clicking a stack of items into the enchantment table, all but one of the stack is destroyed forever.
- After exiting the End, you cannot skip the credits and you become stuck on a scrolling, bright white screen after the credits end.
- NPC Villagers don't repopulate.
- Duplication bug when a block with a data value is pushed into a Tripwire the data value gets removed and the block changes e.g Birch wood turns to Oak wood.
- Tripwire breaks if a solid block below it is broken.
- When wearing a Pumpkin it is sideways on your head. It also happens with Snow Golems. This is most likely caused by the above feature of the new block orientation.
- When closing the Trading GUI, any items left in the right trading box, will be deleted and do not drop.
- Duplication bug when crafting in the survival tab of the creative inventory. You will receive the items as normal but when you exit the inventory you will drop the block you were crafting with. e.g. you craft a diamond block back into diamonds: you receive both the diamonds and the diamond block upon exiting the inventory.
- When typing select words on a Sign, the sign will appear blank after you click done.
- Option + Tab button works as a List players button instead of just Tab button in multiplayer on Mac OS X Lion client
- When placing water, water won't place many times. You can get the water back out every block.
- Very often, Minecraft doesn't save what you have made. (Don't know if this is a bug.)
- If you drink a potion in creative mode, the potion stays in your inventory, but it will create another empty bottle somewhere else in your inventory.
- The "tell", "me", and "kill" commands are OP-only in SMP.
- Non-op players in SMP attempting to issue server commands no longer generate messages on the server console (this breaks some server wrappers).
- Server actions are broadcast to non-OP players
- Fire and Lava sounds are missing.

- Building Blocks
- Decoration Blocks
- Redstone
- Transportation
- Miscellaneous
- Foodstuffs
- Tools
- Combat
- Brewing
- Materials
- The inventory can be searched for specific items: just start typing while in the inventory screen. The search results will be displayed in the Search Items tab.
- The player's survival mode inventory is accessible via a tab with the chest as its icon.

- Updated language files to correct the diamond/emerald mix-up.
- Emerald Ore is now green instead of red.
- Added a crafting recipe for sandstone stairs.
- Added the new Golden Apple to the inventory.
|
| Notable bugs (Complete bug list):
|
- Using a Book and Quill in SSP will use up the item, thus destroying what you have written so far. The item works just fine in SMP.
- Cannot rename any world when playing single player.
- When generating a world or exiting a world, the "saving chunks" and "loading chunks" is absent.
- Pressing F2 to take a screenshot on Creative Mode's Inventory will cause it to switch to the Search Tab. [17]
- Slimes do not always appear to be the size they really are; for instance, a slime that is the size of a tiny slime may have the health, drops, and slime-spawning abilities of a big slime. Any size can appear to be any size.
- English (US) is missing from the language selection screen.
- The on-state Redstone Torch can be found in the "Decoration Blocks" tab, instead of the "Redstone" tab. Meanwhile, the off-state Redstone Torch can be found in the "Redstone" tab.
- When buckets are stacked and you pick up a liquid, all the buckets disappear except one bucket which will be holding the liquid.
- Soul Sand cannot be found in the creative inventory (even with the search feature)
- The /me command is now for ops only in multiplayer
- The /say command does not work if any of the words are one letter long
- Chunk errors are very common.
- Mobs that have more than one skin will always be seen using the default skin (such as sheep and villagers). Reloading the world while near the mob can fix this.
- Redstone torches will become unresponsive after changing the time with the /time set" command.
- The button on the death screen of a Hardcore game displays "deathScreen.leaveServer".
- When in creative mode and your looking in your inventory and you shift click for an item to move to your hot bar, it cant be seen unless you re-click the inventory tab.
- In the new inventory, selecting a building block will darken the "Decoration Blocks" tab and vice-versa.

| Notable bugs (Complete bug list):
|

- Generated structures are very buggy.
- New Golden Apple does not appear in the creative mode inventory screen.
- Villager Trading for items worth more than one emerald doesn't work if you place the emeralds one by one.

- No matter what your world option on cheats, they're always on.
- Mobs spin in circles while on cocoa plants.

- When a Book and Quill is made, it can be right-clicked to open a screen that allows you to type the book.
- Pressing "Done" will save whatever was typed and allow you to edit the book again later, yet will not "sign" it.

|
- Pick Block:
- Several entities and blocks are currently unsupported by Pick Block and cause the player to crash if they attempt to Pick Block them. These includes Piston Heads, Ender Dragons, and other players.
- Pressing the Pick Block button on Redstone Dust gives you a Redstone Wire block.
- Pressing the Pick Block button on long grass gives you a Dead Bush placeable on dirt.
- Pressing the Pick Block button on a sign gives you the sign block and will not have the stand part and will be placed instantaneously, without the sign GUI showing up.
- Spawn Eggs now spawn baby mobs[20].
- Baby mobs spawned in the above way will follow any adult of their mob type.
- Destroying floating sand may crash Minecraft.
- Changing the GUI scale will cause the game to crash.
- If item or block with the same ID but with different meta data are stacked on the floor, they will take the meta data of the first item/block you drop.
- This applies but is not limited to Spawn Eggs, wools, dyes, woods, planks, half-slabs, stairs, leaves, stone bricks, tall grass and sandstone.
- For example, if you drop a spruce plank, followed by 20 jungle planks, 20 birch planks and 23 pine planks, they can stack together into 64 spruce planks.
- Bows do not shoot at correct charges.
