1.7	Biome Changes/Improvements Possibly containing changes to oceans. Improved biome transition/generation. Clay Canyon biome jokingly referred to as "Disco Mountains". Composed of multiple colored hardened clay. Dead bushes spawn in this biome. Redwood Forest biome. Contains 2x2 Spruce trees. Will have a grass block variant known as Podzol. Currently obtained only by the silk touch enchantment. Contains dirt blocks that do not allow grass to grow. They have a data value of 1. Torch bugs in strongholds and mineshafts have been fixed. Miscellaneous Changes to fishing mechanics. Possibly Cherry Trees added by Patrick Geuder. They vary "seasonally" by having leaf blocks change color every fourth day for three minutes. Contain pink saplings. Redoing the achievements and statistics system. Will be per world/server. New scoreboard functions. New Flowers. Sunflowers. Always face East. Can be grown, unlike Roses and Dandelions. What appears to be Lavender. Grown up to two blocks in height. Pink Paeonias, called Paeonia. Several colors of Tulips What appears to be two block tall grass. Rewrite of one or more option screens. Rewrote Key Config. Function and sprint keys can be changed. Falling now has particle effects. Other planned features, items, and blocks

Feature	Description
Transparent Clouds	Jeb originally made clouds transparent when looking from underneath it in snapshot 13w06a. However, this change was reverted in 13w10b as Jeb noticed that the fix caused an FPS drop. He stated "In the future we can fix this again, but with more specific cloud options in the video settings menu."
Cauldron Enhancement	Dinnerbone plans to make buckets fillable from cauldrons.
Expanding on Enchanted Books	Enchanted books will be findable with special enchants normally not obtainable. This was partially implemented when the Thorns enchant was added.
Rendering Engine Rewrite	First confirmed to 1.5, but not added yet. The features will require a higher OpenGL feature-set and include some sort of fallback for older hardware. The rewritten engine will allow for much faster overall rendering, resulting in higher FPS.
Indestructible Enchantment	Jeb mentioned the possibility to add some kind of Indestructible enchantment for map makers to compensate for the loss of negative data values on armor.
Audio loops	Audio loops have not yet been added to the game, but may be implemented to play when the player is in a specific location (In caves, forests, oceans, and beside a waterfall). This has been partially added in 1.4 with the addition of lava and water ambient sounds.
Friends List	The Minecraft documentary team of 2 Player Productions filmed a Keynote roadmap, containing these lines. Kristoffer mentioned on Twitter that he is currently working on friends lists for Scrolls, then for other Mojang games. These will be available for players with Mojang accounts.

Video Support	The Minecraft documentary team of 2 Player Productions filmed a Keynote roadmap, containing these lines. It has also been mentioned at various points that a program for making videos will be implemented into Minecraft itself.
Rewriting the Skin System	Dinnerbone displayed interest towards looking into switching the skin system to edit right and left player limbs separately, once they're done rewriting the "rendering stuffs".
More Interesting Villagers	Jeb mentioned during a Q&A at Minecon 2012 that he would like to expand upon the complexity of Villagers eventually.
Red Dragon	Notch revealed during the 8th Seecret Friday Update that he would add dragons, one being the Ender Dragon, the other being red tameable dragons. Jeb informed players on his AMA on Reddit that he would add red dragons, but was unsure exactly how.
More Animals	Jon Kagstrom commented on Reddit that he would like to add more animals, such as fish, birds, and tree animals, to make the game seem more alive.
Workbench (Mod/Plugin API)	Main article: Plugin API
Seasons	Dinnerbone mentioned on Twitter that he was experimenting with adding seasons, and varying the length of day and night according to season. Seasons may include changes in color of tree leaves.
Resource pack Improvement	Texture pack support was replaced by resource packs in 1.6 release, but some of the planned features are not implemented. Custom font support Combine multiple resource packs Server-side resource packs
Account System Update	This will include the ability to change your Minecraft username and have multiple copies of Minecraft per account. Bans will be changed to use a new Player ID system.
