A version of Java Edition Classic was released on May 16, 2009, at 16:07 UTC, referred to by Notch as "minecraft alpha".[1] This was the first version of Minecraft released for private testing.[1][2]

Bugs[]

  • Issues reported about this version were bad mouse movement[3] and a lack of a Y-axis invert.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The URL for Minecraft was given to users dock and fartron for testing.[5]
