This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in the Java Edition Beta 1.3.x releases, which assumes at least some familiarity with Beta 1.2.x releases

Redstone Repeater		Ingredients Crafting recipe Redstone Torch + Redstone + Stone	Pickaxe	Allows redstone signals to be delayed. Allows redstone signals to be carried over longer distances.
Cobblestone Slab		Ingredients Crafting recipe Cobblestone 3	Pickaxe	Allows you to walk upwards without jumping.
Sandstone Slab		Ingredients Crafting recipe Sandstone 3	Pickaxe	Allows you to walk upwards without jumping.
Wood Slab		Ingredients Crafting recipe Oak Planks 3	Pickaxe	Allows you to walk upwards without jumping. Despite its appearance, it is fireproof and requires a pickaxe to mine.
Crying Obsidian		Exists only as a texture.	N/A	Originally intended to be used to set the player's spawn.
